Golf Tube Arrows - Necroing of my 2011 thread
http://board.belegarth.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=39507

Golf tubes are about 1.5" in diameter and could potentially be a significantly safer and more durable arrow design than what we currently use. Downside is that they are obviously more bulky and won't fly as far, so not many archers will actually want to use them. I am considering building a few soon for testing (Locally in Thunder Guard), as they could serve well as loaner arrows for newbies.

As far as I am aware, the only failing point for a golf tube arrow in the BoW is this one:
1.4.8.8. All arrows must have at least two full fletching.

In a regular arrow, fetching is used to stabilize the arrow shaft is because there is almost no wind resistance (Since the shaft is so small). I assume that on a 1.5" shaft, stabilization of the shaft shouldn't be a problem due to greater diameter and more wind resistance.

Has anyone experimented with golf tube arrows? Are there any other BoW issues that would make these illegal that I may have missed here?
Ranting about the BoW so you don't have to.

When I have seen these, they just make cloth tape fletchings for them to get around the rule. They are very safe arrows, but yes you lose a little range.
