Off through the new day's mist I run.
Out from the new day's mist I have come.
I hunt.
Therefore I am.
Harvest the land.
Taking of the fallen lamb.

Off through the new day's mist I run.
Out from the new day's mist I have come.
We shift.
Pulsing with the earth.
Company we keep.
Roaming the land while you sleep.

I definitely have to give credit to Metallica for that one. It's the first two verses of the song "Of Wolf and Man".

I felt it fit though, since I am also a type of shapeshifting creature that hunts at night.

Edited for truth.

And I think I met you at Beltaine, you were hanging out with Dagganoth on...Saturday night? Can't remember, but the name "Bailey" rings a bell. I was probably one of the many of the crazy-looking goblyns you met. Still, don't feel forced into choosing a race right away. You can be whatever you want. Obviously since I'm monster, Galya say dat smexy goblyn-ness always be good idea. And your dad used to be a Bugbear back in the day, but you didn't look like the type for that. Just check out stuff on the Wiki, get to know people and find out where you fit best. Most of us started out as some kind of human/pink thing. I was pink for a year before I first went green, so you've got time to think it over. No rush.

But goblyns still be dee bestest monster der ever be. :D

May I ask why? Is it just a cleanliness thing? 'Cuz you'd be surprised how much fun it is to be green or blue or purple. When I was first debating a monster race, I felt the same way, totally refused to paint myself any weird colors. But then I tried it, and it was actually really sweet. I guess I've always thought about painting as a way to further remove yourself from the mundane. You can really get into the character, at times you almost feel like you are a goblyn or whatever. You take pride in being green, just as the other goblyns do. It's a cool feeling.

I guess if persona stuff isn't your thing, that's okay. But please don't turn into an elf, Galya hate tah see Arya roastin' over dee fire at nekst event.

i dont know i guess i dont like the idea of my skin being dyed because i would be stuck that way for a while. its an OCD thing i guess. i love getting to live a different style than normal. but in a way its more like im truly myself for the event. i really get to act like a true hipi without judgement. lol. im a hipi at heart i embrace it. :P

Sounds like elf to me. But if you really think you can pull something like that off, go for it. You'd better make sure to get good garb for it though, or else no one will take your character seriously. 'Course, the monsters won't take you seriously regardless. If Arya be pink, not matter wat kind Arya be, she still be krunchy wen left on spit tah cook.

thats true. im sure there are good things about every race no matter what they be.but from what i hear an elf is the closest thing to my personality and though it is role play, i still want my character to reflect my personality. if not be a more out there version of me

I personally am very fond of elves. Particularily the dark ones. I am a drow and its hell-a fun. If you want to be nymph like I'd say go elf. A few of my favorite Belegarthians are elves. Course its true we always have to look out for goblins ; )

what kinds of elves are there?

Re: Races

theres the drow, were the dark side of the race of elves, we're kind of assasin like and dark skined with silver hair. We live in caves. there's the sand elves, though I only know one. They live in the desert, they're really neither good nor bad just nuetral. Theres the light elves, under which are the factions of tree elf and wood elf. They are the tree hugging honor loving kind of elves. I think there are also water elves but I'm not positive on that one.

the light elves sound pretty cool. as do the tree hugging ones but i dont that that would do me much couold in belegarth, which revolves around fighting. i dont really see myself as a dark elf but then again it seems a fun character to play.

In the fighting aspect all elves are pretty much equal, were all supposed to be light and fast and thin and graceful and killer with bows/ swords/ any weapon you can think of. Elves are nice because they're so awesome we have a lot of options as far as personality, garb, weapons, and the like. Also we're generally awesome enough to pick off the goblyns. lol

haha yea i should say we could take the greenies. but i have yet to really try many weapons. so far i have only sparred once or twice. but i think i am lening towards the bow and arrow. im not all that great with a sword at the moment.

yes vokor and dagganoth will be helping me out along the way as far as weaponary goes.im sure i will eventually figure that part out. but what type of garb would a light elf wear. and also what would dark elves wear. those are the two that i am going to choose between i believe.

Re: Races

Like I said befor your pretty much free garbwise though I suggest earth toned outfits for a light elf and dark cavelike tones for a dark elf. personally I wear black flowing pants, and a black shirt with long flowing sleeves, with blue sequins running down the sleeves and blue lightning running across the bodice. My Drow sister wears black leggings under a black skirt with fish net tights, and a red and black corset. Yet another drow sister wears a black tanktop and black flowing pants. Light elves are prone to sleevless dresses, with corset type bodices, and lon skirts particularily the archers. But there are a bnch of options.

The only reason tank tops and neutral colors work as garb is because no one wants to tell a girl in a tank top to put on something else.

well thats because all guys tend to be sexist and will look at any and every womans chest.

Well, good call then. I'm just saying then that that doesn't do a very good job of describing your garb. It's like someone asking me my garb and me replying "tighty whities." That's not your garb, it's what you wear under it.

That's actually a good question. I guess that armor would technically count as a sub-class of armor. It is period, so why shouldn't it?

Re: Races

i think it would count as garb because it is set for the time period. it is an in character outfit.

Garb is Garb. Armor is Armor. Does it get more complex than that?

Armor and garb are like shoes and socks. Yeah, they both go on your feet, but one protects you from broken glass and ****.

That's why we have different words for them... because they're not the same thing.

be a klingon, No seriously there is nothing wrong with elfes. there have better dexterity they live longer natural lifes, and I'll go as far as saying that they are part of the environment. There are water elfs. Wood and tree elfs live in the woods and instead of chopping down trees they grow the trees into there shelter. Wood elfs are a little more civilized and make better fighters where as tree elfs are more about being one with nature... Old legend says it's from one of those 2 my character was born into and left for dead after an unknown force attacked. From where he ended up being raised by the high elfs... Guess they couldn't leave an infant for dead like the unknown did...

honestly if you can make the garb and armor and weapons and make it look GOOD. go for it. Something like a Klingon you are going to need to put alot of time and effort into, if you hald * it it will look like ****. This is in my opinion why alot of people dont like elves, those who play elves have what is equivalent to a Legolas outfit from party city. This is what I have seen anyway.

Honestly Arya, I havent seen or met you so helping you out as far as races are concerned would be difficult. If your tiny Bugbear would not be right for you, on the same edge if you weigh 800 lbs do not play a goblin.

My best Advice: Wait til you can fight then develop your style then base your "character" around that

There was a time when elves didn't get mocked? Are you sure? They only have better dexterity if you train up your own dexterity. Otherwise you look silly... And as for longer natural lives... Well, natural life span doesn't count for much when you are unnaturally suspended over a goblin cookfire...

Arya, check out fantasy illustrations of elves. Find a few really awesome pics of fighting elf chicks. Then add 3 yards of fabric or Vokor will end up killing someone. You'll be all good. And don't wear the ears. You could always say you fed them to a bugbear in exchange for a ride to the event... Vokor is still a bugbear at heart... Like, all the guys know Vokor will eat their sorry pinky * if they try anything with you. :P

yea i know....i think the only one he would ever allow to touch me would be Dagganoth. and that's because he likes him and approves of him and all that crap. ever since we hung out that night and a few people asked if we were together Vokor has been teasing me about it. Guys ran from me when they found out i was his step daughter. one guy even apologized because he had been checking me out before he realized who i was.
