[01] Votes and unvotes must be in the following format:

You may vote at any time during the day, and your vote will continue to count until you unvote. Votes and unvotes in any other format will not be counted. Sorry, but I can't go digging to find them. Make them obvious for me.

[02] Please be attentive and unvote, if necessary, before casting a new vote. This is not required, but I?d appreciate it. Please just stick an unvote in the line above your new vote.

[03] Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, their pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. Feel free to post in twilight, though. Once I post a death scene, night has begun, and I will lock the thread. I will reopen the thread when I post the information for the next day, in about 2-3 real life days.

[04] You may vote: no lynch ? majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.

[05] If a deadline is reached with no majority, the day will end without a lynch. I don't want to set a deadline, but if I have to, aka, if people or stalling or the game is not progressing, I will.

[06] The game is not to be discussed outside the thread. Please do not talk about, send private messages about, anything about this thread outside of it IF you are a player. Anyone else can feel free to comment as they like, just please stay out of the play thread. The only exception to this rule is that mafia members may talk to each other as much as they like in private, but ONLY during the night. If you violate this rule, then you are cheating, and if I find out, I will remove you from the game.

[07] When I set a day deadline, the deadline lasts until I actually lock the thread.

[08] Once your death scene has been posted, you?re dead. Stop typing. Not even a ?Bah!? post, please. Save it for after the game is over.

[09] No small or invisible text. Don?t edit/delete previously submitted posts either. If you edit or delete your own or anyone else's (if you're a mod) post, you have cheated, and I will remove you from the game.

[10] Don?t directly quote any PMs from me. This is cheating, and if you do, I will remove you from the game. You are allowed to reveal your role, character name, etc, just don't directly quote the text of my PM's.

[11] If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you ? if you do not submit a choice to me, I?ll make it for you and you won?t like it.

[12] If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Be considerate ? don?t leave us hanging.

[13] I am always right, but not always accurate. If I've made a mistake, please tell my by private message as soon as possible. Please do not do so in thread. I probably won't remove you from the game for doing so, but I wouldn't risk it, either.

Story Introduction

You, the players and citizens of the Belegarth community, have discovered a new and terrible presence in your midst! A new force, the Iron Crown, is seeking to dominate and conquer the world of Belegarth. You must discover them and thwart their plot before it is too late, and all of Belegarth is theirs. Members of the Iron Crown: You must be sneaky. You must be bold. You must crush these pathetic fools before they can put their pathetic act together and fight back!

You are playing yourself. You are an ordinary member of the Belegarth community, just out go have a good time and swing some foam. You have no powers at night, but during the day can use your voice, your reason, and your vote to find and destroy the Iron Crown/Mafia infestation.

Game Start

I would like everyone to please post something along the line of "Hi, I'm here, and I know what my role is, I have read the rules, etc" ASAP. Night 1 will begin when all acknowledgments are in, but no earlier than noon on Monday, May 14. When I post that Night 1 has begun, you will have 48 hours to send me your night choices. If you do not send them, I will assume you have decided not to make a choice. I might also make a random choice for you. It's really up to what mood I'm in then.

(My semester ended last week, and I have been in the process of moving back home and trying to readjust - all without reliable internet access. Sorry again.)

Rumors of darkness and encroaching evil spread like plague through the Belegarth community. What will happen? What evils lurk in the heart of the Iron Crown? What sane man can say?

I'll be gone the 23-28 Last family vacation before I ship for all of my votes assume I voted with the majority barring myself.

Before you ship as in military-type shipping? As in, should I find a replacement player for you?

Day 1

It is almost a relief to learn that your fears are, in fact, grounded in reality. When Aegis' body is found, brutally murdered, there is finally proof that the evil Iron Crown has come upon these shores. They came in the night, leaving no evidence of their identity--only a dagger, left in the heart of the victim, its pommel topped with a styalized crown.

Aegis, himself (townie), is dead.

With 19 alive, it is 10 votes to lynch.

9 hours later and no one has started the game yet? I guess it's up to me to get things kicked off, yet again.

So...looking at the list of citizens...

Brenna has a history of being mafia. Donut, I am keeping my eyes on you. But I don't think that is reason enough to throw accusations at her.

Olos replaced Lodian after the roles had been assigned. Why was it so important to fill that role that someone else was recruited? Again though...that might just be Oisin being nice. I'm not so sure that constitutes a lynching.

Dragon of Fire. For all the boards trolling I do, I don't recognize your name. I am suspicious of an unfamiliar name.

Seeing as my accurate accusation of Magpie during the last game was not taken as serious considering it's promptitude, I am not going to vote at this time. These are my considerations however.

I think the Olos-Lodian thing is a fairly good catch by you Ju'Dekei, but thats really all ive got to go by now anyway.

Reformed Mafia, Judybear, Reformed. Just the friendly neighborhood watch for me now.

On that note, I agree with Dagg that your mafia sniffing nose is quite accurate and will take most of your opinions into serious consideration.

While the Olos/Lodian switchup was a bit of a shock, let's not forget how crazy these big cities can get.

I'm a bit sketchy of that Elohssa-kid. * skateboaders, need to stay off the sidewalk.

But that Elebrim is also a bit sketchy...bit too knowledgable for my taste, if ya know what I mean.

The Lodian-Olos switch has absolutely nothing to do with roles or importance of the individual player. I balanced the game and roles setup for a certain number of players--if I had started the game short a few, the shorted side (either scum or town), would have had a decided disadvantage. This is a fairly common practice in online mafia. If another player were to go completely AWOL during the game, I would also in most cases bring another player to replace mid game.

It got you to vote didn't it? either way if I was mafia this is how I would want it if everyone voted for each other thier is no way they could ever lynch someone then I would just kill off townies at night. So I guess the question is now if I am a mafia member why would I reveal my plan? And if I'm a townie why would I help the mafia? Or am I even helping the mafia?
And Spork why did you make absolutely no effort to defend youself? Even if I didn't point out my reasons for choosing you I still casted the spotlight and doubt onto you.

ju'deki, i used to be named "dragon knight" but i changed it after some name and rank issues i realized, ive been on the boards for about a year now

icarus, that definitly sounds like mafia to me. saying that youre trying to throw off the balance of townie and mafia could mean either youre completely inocent, or completely guilty. im going to assume guilty simply because you played the whole "mabey mabey not" card, which in my experience means youre trying to sound somewhat guilty to throw the suspicion off you in one of those "who would give themself away if they were guilty" type of things.

spork, im somewhat suspicious because the first thing you did was defend yourself, but then again who wants to be lynched, and i think that im more suspicious of icarus for voting you right off

Well, I know Ju'Dekei threw out early accusations last game and caught flak for it, but many of her accusations were well-grounded, so I definitely won't hold that against her...but she could also be playing the same card she did last time to appear innocent again this time, and be hiding behind that veil.

Icarus might've just been wanting to get the voting started to get the game rolling with his early accusation, or he might've been wanting to throw suspicion off with his "Why would I reveal my plan?" as has been previously noted.

Brenna, are you just suspicious because you don't know me?

Woah woah woah. Did you read my post? I haven't voted for anyone yet. And as I said in my original post, someone has to get this thing started.

I do remember you as Dragon Knight. Actually I remember when you first signed onto the boards now that you've pointed that out.

I have to say though - your immediate defensiveness makes me even more suspicious.

Icarus, as a wellfounded upstanding member of our little town of Rhol-Plai, I must say that we should not simply vote for eachother to keep from being lynched by the RPPD. Ergo, we must decipher the intimations left by those involved in a contrivance to either convert our loyalties or systemicly eradicate our vivacities.

I am infinitely positive that that the fluctuations being made here will be regretably irrevocable and concordantly, our articulations must be immaculate.

In my prominence, I would suggest that we all be put to death for suspiscion of Iron Crown dealings. At least that way, the threat would be eradicated interminably.

and as you said ju'deki, i havent voted yet either, but you were indeed tossing off acusations right at the start of the game, and not only to me.

i agree with brenna, theres a bunch of people who havent said anything yet, and that makes me suspicious that they might be laying low and letting everyone just kill each other off so they dont have to do anything/get blamed.

my vote still waits so i can get at least one statement that proves that someone's mafia before i start pointing fingers
