Any more complex tactics or secrets anyone would like to share with me on this subject? We seem to have a lot of 2 on 2, or 3 on 3 battle out here.

Well, best advice I've been given in those types of situations by the vets is to either 1. gimp and go; or B. try to get it where you can get yourself and at least one ally on one guy, take him out, and then move on to the next; lather, rinse, repeat. It seems to work quite well, well, assuming you can use teamwork, lol.

depends i personally have always had success with if they have strung themelves out gimp and go but if they are tight together then run all day and get in arm and kill shots and hopefully separate one from the pack

Well, most of us ( ) have the common sense to stick together for protection. Do you guys have any tactics to draw them out of the group tho?

If it's a bunch of Vets, I have no suggestions; If you're up against several newbs and a vet or two; generally if you run a ways away from them, the newbs (depending on how new they are) will try to close with you and leave their team behind. I used to have that issue all the time, it'd get to the end and if I was still, miracoulosy, alive I'd be like "oh, hey, look, they have one guy left" and while a lot of people were approaching, I'd run up and die cause I'd be alone. The other newbs would do it too; it's really one those things where you just need to be aware of who you're fighting, and generally, you can find little things to get them to come out alone.

generally i have two tactics, the first is to run em over and take there cookies, and the other is to never even let em know where the hit came from (backstab) with a big flanks lots of running and skirmishing
confuse your opponent and get em off point somehow, shield bash or sumptn, build a solid defense and pick your shots don't just swing wildly
learn to snipe death shots like the hip, shoulder, arm pit and the rest of the torso

Well, the backstab thing would be nice, but it usually is just them against us, and we start facing each other. Not much room for that to work. All the other stuff is a great help though. Keep it all comin'!

Tiji's right - and if they don't *have* cookies, an alternative tactic is taking their lunch money

Look inconspicuous.

Ok, that might not work for a 3 person battle, but you'd be suprised at how well it works for larger battles.

Also, Tiji is right about the armpit shot, no one ever sees that one comming.

Was taught in Tae Kwon Do, and MCMAP, plus it's just plain common sense...

Don't let them surround you... Don't run like a little girl, but be quick enough to swing yourself to flank them...

Try to keep them close so they hit each other "I haven't read the BOW completely and am unsure about friendly-fire/hits, but I would imagine that would/should count too for the sake of realism and unit discipline..."

Try to smite them back with a shield, effectively forcing them to engage you one at a time. Prioritize separating them, BEFORE killing them. If you can get an arm or a leg take it, every little bit helps.

Remember you're not superman, if you're overwhelmed try to work your way back to friendlys...

Friendly fire isn't, both in real life and in Belegarth.

Good, I hate when people shrug off friendly fire in paintball, just kills the realism... and was hoping it counted as a hit no matter who it came from here...

It does count, that's what he's saying. Let me rephrase it:

Friendly fire isn't friendly, both in Belegarth and real life.

Friendly fire does count, so watch your swings :D

I seem to recall some rule about touching your striking surface... and blocking a hit with the weapon against your body... both not allowed so I would guess if Joe-Blow was running up a field and tripped over a migrating.... walrus... falling face first on his weapon, he would be considered dead.

i'm assuming it would depend mainly on a presence or lack of sufficient force. i may be wrong, but the way i've understood it is that you may touch your own striking surface (to pick up the weapon, or even block if it's not anvilling) but if it strikes you with sufficient force, you should take it. (many people will not take such hits, because... they don't realize they should.)

if you ever grab an opponents striking surface though, sufficient force or not, you lose that limb.

Magpie got it. If you hit yourself with sufficient force, take the hit.

Ooooh, hey. Thanx for that answer there. I've been forgetting to ask about that forever!!!! So, just to get it right, I can reinforce my parries with my open hand, but if my sword gets knocked against me with good force, then I take it, yea?
