Improvements on Octfest Scenarios and Tactics

Postby Fowler » Tue Oct 24, 2006 4:27 pm

Discuss improvements on scenarios & tactics held at Octfest.

For example,

For Bridge Battles(no village) one team should have to eliminate the other team within a time limit. Why? So that you don't get two teams both acting defensively. I would suggest a numbers advantage given to the offense, but not more than a 10th of the total fighters.

Tactics-

Same battle as above- except w/o the suggested rules- I would have wanted my team to make two killing cups at the end of each bridge and send the whole rest of the army crawling across the water on one side. Except for a small group waiting to cross on the other far side of the water.

I dont think adding a time limit to one of the most dangerous games in blegarth would help anything.

I would have to agree with fowler, it would add a whole new aspect to the battle.

I think this could also be incorparted to some castle battles, i think it would make some of the battles fun and interesting.

Bridge/Tower Battle:
We ran something like this at the Rh?n event last June. A bridge was set up at the base of Bo's tower and put two archers in the tower. The attackers had to kill all the defenders (within a time limit). Each team had archers, but the defending team had to have a person that put arrows in a hook for the archers to lift them up.

As a battle scenario, I thought it worked pretty well. It was amazing as an archer!

The picture below is from near the end of a battle. Did anyone else like this scenario?

Unfortunately I couldn't make your mini event, but that looks like fun.
