Historical Weapon question

Postby Kyrinn » Sat Jul 02, 2011 10:13 am

I am wondering if there is any historical basis for elven dagger in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? I have been searching for a while now and have found a few styles of blades.

The Jambiya: It has the curved blade, but the hilt is straight and has a concave shape.

The Khanjar: It looks a lot like the Jambiya, but there is some variation. The second link is closer.

I am wondering if there is a dagger that curves back while the handle curves forward.

Google "Fillet knife." People have been using knives like that on their fish catches for a long time. I'm not a historian, though.
