Western Wars III

That's right. Some of you haters didn't think it would go down but here it is.

Location : Milo McIver State Park Directions

Price: $20

This is a 4 day event. Setup Thursday and fight through Sunday and go home Monday.

This has been dubbed one of the most chill events in the West. It is obsolutely worth the drive out here from Utah or Idaho... and even further. Spread the word *, this is going down.

Bring cold weather gear just in case, it is known to get pretty cold at night.

Waivers are required to fight at Western Wars. If you are 18+ you can sign a wavier when you get here. If you are under 18 you must bring a waiver that has been signed by a parent/guardian.

Adult Waiver
Minor Waiver
IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO AN OREGON EVENT, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

May 11-15.... I really hope I can. Work sucks and I am not sure if I will be finished with new clients by then. Will there be a pro-rated price for those who can only make a day trip? Sounds fun and I really hope to make it... let us know when prices are final!

All:

Sorry for the incredibly late posting -- and many thanks to Bishop for getting this info out for me.

I've updated the Gondor websitewith the info for WWIII -- basically the same stuff that Bish has posed here.

The cost for the event is $20. Same bat time, same bat place. I'm really looking forward to this years event!

And Andrek -- I can hook you up for less if you can only make it for a day -- no problem. Just get your * out here :) .

Well I am really trying for this year. If not next year I will as I have that put in the plan. How far away is it from the coast? A few friends are wanting to come out and they want me to go to the coast with me for a day.

Elyk and I really hope to be there. It is a really small chance, and it would be our first event ever, but really hope to see ya all there.

For drive times, to Portland, its about 90 mins from the coast (tillamook). From LA, I don't know, but I do know its about 7 hours to portland from san francisco, and I bet you know how far it is to san fran. From the OR/ID border, its like a 7-8 hour drive to portland.

From Portland, its is about an hour to the park, but go ahead and check mapquest, because you may not have to drive all the way to portland depending on where your coming from.

See you all there, and congrats Brute on finally being able to stay the whole **** time...and not having to blow money on prom that could have been put to good use on weapons and...refreshments.

Man that's crazy. I lived in Colton, not exactly far from there, up until late August 2005. Hope your guys' event goes well. I'll probably be coming out to Chaos with Troll, Yaktoo, and hopefully 10-20 more Eastern folk. Maybe this post isn't really relevant but hearing about McIver made me homesick. Again, best wishes for your event.

Im not sure if there is a brewery near there, i would doubt it, but portland has some amazing microbrews. We rotate em every month at my resturant and there is some awsome beer down here. If you are that interested you should come down like a day early and drink around portland, the site is only 40 minutes away from it so np.

rouge river is a good brewery, dead guy ale is pwn

hair of the dog ipa is killer to.

So how about an unofficial expected headcount -- just so I can make an attempt to look prepared when everyone shows up :).
I'm expecting fighters from Babylon, Angband, L?echtuath, Chaos (though no posts from them yet), and possibly some others. Can someone from these realms try to guestimate how many fighters you think you are fielding and let me know (either on this thread or with a private message)?

Thx

Yes. I'm pretty sure we'd like to see anyone from any battle game to come out and enjoy a good few days of sword fighting, especially our brother game Dagorhir.

Let me see if there's any interest from Pelargir (San Francisco). We're practicing in the city this weekend, so I'll post a head count soon.

Dopp, is that the only reason you care? :) Actually as the years go by I think the story looses intensity -- the details are getting fuzzy. Besides I don't think I'll be getting drunk *enough* for 'that' story. Chaos would be a more likely event...
