When: Saturday, June 3rd
Where: Goodland Park in Madison, WI

This is also a free one day event and a grand feast will be made available to all who attend.

This is the second event in the series of events called the Chicago Mini Events. Come fight in old favorite games and a couple of crazy new games of our own design. Then sit back and enjoy the realms of Dunharrow, Loderia, Muxlovia, and Rh?n fight for the title of Best Chicago Area Realm in 2006.

Last year this event drew around 100 people from the above realms and beyond.

I have arranged for a babysitter to be available that day for my children and others. She is charging a reasonable fee (the event is free, the babysitting is not, sorry). PM me if you are interested in having someone else watch your kids so you can fight. If there is enough interest, she will bring some friends. She is my regular babysitter and has travelled with me to GenCon to watch my kids, so she is trustworthy.

REALM OF RH?N EVENT LIABILITY WAIVER

In consideration of receiving permission from Belegarth Medieval Combat Society (herein "BMCS"), to participate as a member of the BMCS and to participate in any activity, event, tournament, contest or meeting that BMCS participates, sponsors, attends, or supervises, the Undersigned releases BMCS, the owner of any premises where any BMCS activity, event, tournament, contest or meeting occurs, and any other member of the BMCS, individually, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the Undersigned's minor child, or any property of the Undersigned or the Undersigned?s minor child, while participating in any activity, event, tournament, contest or meeting that BMCS participates, sponsors, attends or supervises.

The Undersigned being duly aware of the risks and hazards inherent upon participating in any activity, event, tournament, contest or meeting of the BMCS, elects voluntarily to allow Undersigned's minor child to participate, knowing 'that participation requires physical contact by others to the person of the Undersigned's minor child and knowing that such participation may become hazardous and dangerous during the time that the Undersigned voluntarily assumes all risks of loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the Undersigned's minor child, or any property of the Undersigned or Undersigned's minor child while participating in any activity, event, tournament, contest, or meeting that the BMCS participates, sponsors, attends or supervises.

This release shall be binding upon the distributees, heirs, next of kin, executors and administrators of the Undersigned and Undersigned's minor child.

In signing the foregoing release, the Undersigned acknowledges and represents:

(a) That he or she has read the above release, understands it, and signs voluntarily on behalf of themselves and their minor child;

(b) That he or she is over 18 years of age and of sound mind and is the parent or legal guardian of the minor child named below;

(c) Undersigned represents that Undersigned,' s minor child has no physical or mental defects known to the Undersigned and unknown to the appropriate representative of the BMCS that would endanger or harm the Undersigned's minor child while participating in any activity, event, tournament, contest or meeting that the BMCS participates, sponsors, attends, or supervises.

Now my question is, what time is weapons check and what time does this start and end?

As far as I know (or more appropriately, unless it has changed), weapons check starts at 11:00 am and fighting starts around noon. Feast is planned for 6:00 pm.

i apologize i can not make it... saturdays are a huge day at the evil empire... and if i want geddon i need to be there....

Directions from your location can be obtained from Google maps. It's directions seem accurate from both the north and the south. My husband grew up close to there and looked the directions over.

I will make sure that there are some veggie burgers to go with the other burgers and brats (as well as a mechanism to keep them from being cooked on a grill that has touched meat).

If anyone has any significant dietary issues, PM me and I will see what we can do to accomodate you.

no no, vegetarians are very welcome, herbavores( sp to lazy to check) are really tasty.

jk we can make what you need just pm me with your personal vegetarianisms, aka vegan, just no red meat, nothign that casts a shadow, milk is ok eggs out the window, cheese is good or bad, whatever you are just let me know.
i plan on having cole slaw and potatoe salad as well so are these ok or is the mayo in them a no no. ther should be a vegitarian council for belegarth to decide whats good for vegetarians and what isn't.

Hey, I'm home for the summer roundabouts the Joliet area, and I'm thinking I may head up for at least a few hours for some fighting. The problem is, all my stuff is locked up in my apartment in Champaign (Numenor).

The point I'm trying to get at: will anyone have some extra swords n' boards they'd be willing to loan the use of. I'm a good kid, really. Hell if Hydra's going to be there, I'm an able pole-armer, willing to join a line for the day as well.

Sorry, Dagganoth, this event is using the national rules that fighters must be 16. I sympathize that it is hard to wait, but the events that you can fight at will be few and far between.

It is likely that extra equipment will be available on a case-by-case basis, that is there will not be a pile of weapons anyone can grab, but if you ask, I am sure someone will get you equipped.

the Muxlovian event is 14 with waver. but thats a long hall for a one day event.

And the age limit for the Rh?n event has been changed to 14. Remember that anyone under 18 still needs their waiver signed by their legal parent/guardian.
