Details:
Camp site has running water, bathrooms, and a fairly large feild. Parking is close to camp. Camp is located under mid sized trees that provided an excelent atmosphere last year.

Only event in the warm non-snow climate. I know there are people out there who want to fight but can't because of snow and the cold weather.

There is a Walmart, Home Depot, and several food/general stores.

Insider Information:
SCA's Estrella war will NOT be held at Estrella Mountain Regional Park this year. It will be held at Canyon Moon Ranch in Florence, Arizona around the 2nd or 3rd week of febuary.

Last year the fighting on friday stopped around midnight.

Themed Fights:

Raiding the Camp
Fighters split up into 2 teams at a 5:1
The larger team is to gaurd an object located inside of camp. They may not go within 20 feet of the object.

The smaller team is to take the item out of camp with 1 or more people left alive.

No regen or resurections. No Arrows.

Night Patrol
Fighters split up into 2 teams at a 4:1

The larger team is to prevent the other team from entering camp. They may not go into camp. This team is incouraged to patrol the area around the camp and hunt the smaller team in groups of no more than 3.

The smaller team needs one person to enter camp to win.

No regen or resurections. No ranged weapons.

Well since I've never been west of Iowa in my entire life I am thinking about comming. Would someone be able to pick me up in Pheonix? And if I do I am flying so does anyone have a good way of transporting a glaive on an airplane, let alone camping supplies and ****? Just questions for now, not sure yet if I will make it but it's only about $250.00 round trip, so I am really thinking about it.

I can pick you up at the Airport if you decide to come. I don't think you'll be able to get a glaive on the plane, but the rest just has to go in your suitcases. Sheilds can be checked like regular luggage (I usually just reverse my cover to keep the hardware on the back from being a problem).

I brought a glaive to CWX on a plane. It was checked free of charge at the pheonix airport, but it cost me $100 to have it checked in utah. Another option is you could ship the glaive to one of us. That would cost around $60 round trip.

I checked it as sporting equipment. It was over the size limit so they had to charge me for the extra 4 inches.

I argued it was shorter that a lot of skis, but they said rules were rules and if I brought any such ski they would also charge for them too.

unfortunately I can no longer go. I now have a wedding I have to be at in Aurora, IL for an old friend. I was really looking forward to comming though. I need to get out there to fight with you guys. If anything changes, I will definately let you guys know. I still want to see if I can make it for a couple of the days, but for right now I am a no go.

I've been flying my gear back and forth from Atlanta for school; you'll have to check it in oversized luggage, but a large containier like a car roof carrier works well. The camping supplies would probably fall under the same rule; be prepared to pay the extra fees for excess baggage.

As for the glaive, I'm sure you could call the airline to explain the situation and see what you needed to do; someone transported several pairs of skis on a flight I was recently on, and they got away with it fine.

I'll be coming from Andor; this will be my first event. I'm really looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and testing my skills. I also hope to get some constructive criticism on my foamsmithing.



On a side note, I'm used to going to church on Sunday, so I'll be doing a devotional (some bible readings and prayer) on Sunday morning.

Anyone who is interested is welcome to join me regardless of denomination, religion, or lack thereof. Tentatively, I'll be in my camp for about 15 min starting around 10:00am (depending on the event schedule).

This is not formally related to Belegarth, Rebirth, my realm, or anything.
I'm not trying to be preachy or convert anyone. If you have any questions or concerns, message me or find me at rebirth. (I have a goatee, a leather finned helm, and I fight mostly glaive or sword and board).

I just looked at the weather report and "chilly" means 39-44 degrees Friday night, so be prepared. Most importantly the current report has it down to 25 degrees Saturday night, which is * cold. Orion and I may be breaking camp to go home late Sat night rather than stay in the freezing cold with Brinka. Just a heads up everyone. Pack to stay warm.
