Feri will be there with food and things you forgot to bring...
Do you want me to supply ice like I did for Armegeddon?
Is there anything else people want me to have in the stand.

One year you had little 3x5 sections of mirror you were selling, ever since then I've never seen them, and they were really useful.

Gilead is planning to host a HUGE party at Okfest this year. It shall be called Valhalla, and everyone is invited. We're still at the drawing board at this time, but spread the word.

The location for Oktoberfest has changed. It will be held at the same location as this years Armageddon is. I will change my top post to reflect also. AS far as I know the dates remain the same. I will double check though.

Cost remains the same.
New Stonehouse Park and Octoberfest website will be up in a couple of weeks.
Expect a lot of changes between now and October at the park.

If anyone is flying into Rockford, either I personally will drive you down or I will make sure you have a ride from someone within my realm. Please shoot me a P.M.

usually if you fly into rockford it's a transfer from Chicago, watch for that, it'll be cheaper to just fly to chicago and skip the next flight.

Thanks for the help.

Where in Missouri are they coming from? We have carpools leaving from St. Louis every year if they might be interested in sharing with us, save everyone some gas money.

First thing first. What is admission? Where do most people stay? How much does it cost on average? (Getting info. This year might be my first Okfest, and hopefully Knightfalls return to stability.)

I don't know the cost of the event, but in response to where people stay, it will be tent camping. There is plenty of space at the park, along with a shower house. The feast hall should be wired with lights an paved.

At the risk of sounding like a douche, I think having a not **** weapons check this year would be awesome, I'd really like my stuff to not get broken before it hits the field.

At the risk of sounding like a *, I'm pretty sure the only weapons that ever get broken during any weapons check are the ones that fail weapons check. Better to find out something is going to break there than on the field, no? ^.~ But I digress.
I have the same questions as Droma.

I would disagree, as I have had weapons, that passed with flying colors, which were treated badly enough after being checked that I pulled them off the field myself. People need to treat everyone's weapons with the same respect they'd treat their own, even if you're having to slog through a big * pile of them.

You've obviously never had someone thumb your sword. That's right, you don't use the tip of your thumb to check to see if you feel core, what a thought?
I'm not commenting on weapons check from last octfest, just contributing to the off topic discussion.

I understand that there is a lot of work being done at Stonehouse, but I was curious to know if the castle would be up and running this year? I ask because, as I understand it, the castle requires a large amount of help to put up/take down and if I'm still in the area come Oktoberfest, I'd be happy to take off work and help.
Who exactly in Numenor is running it, just out of curiosity? I believe House Valdemar did it last year, and there was something about Heidoran running this year? Just asking so I know who I should be asking if the need help with anything.

We have made numerous improvements to the facilities at Stonehouse for Octoberfest.
-improvements to showerhouse (posted in stonehouse forum)
-improved roads
-new building moved on site for troll
-new parking lot in the works
-fixed multiple utility poles for better water and power
Look forward to seeing you all there!

Nope, the building they moved, that nearly killed Kegg, is an old chicken coop that was converted into storage. It has plenty of room to use as a premenant building for TROLL. Along with it being dry, it has shelves already built in to store other event stuff needed for the coordinators of the event.

Would people be interested in some fighting classes? I was thinking of doing three:
1) Basic fighting overview (see
here for a general outline)
2) Basic florentine
3) Basic archery

I'm old and have been outa the game for too long so I'd love some classes!
My question is about the event itself kinda. I live quite close (20 minutes away) and have a family that I can't be away from for too long. Would there be any problem with leaving and coming back each day? I'll be there everyday of course, and the fam might come out for a day, it's just that I can't stay on the site for the entire event.

And Douche you do sound. The idea of weapons check is to make sure that weapon will pass for the whole 6-10 hours of fighting. Weapons check should be rigorous. If your stuff is questionable, it shouldn't pass. And no one dug the tip of their thumb into anyones weapon. It was the flat of the thumb. Also, if you had problems with the way things were ran, you should have brought your complaint to Sir Alberich or one of the Sargeants of Valdemar.
Also Hiederon(sp?), I am willing to help in any manor possible (except troll unless drinks are allowed there
). So just send me a pm or let me know where you guys need help.

people leave and come back all the time. Long as you check in with troll each time you come back and tell them you have already paid. Let them check that your name is on the list or show your event token, it shouldnt be a big deal.

The site should be up soon , we were merely waiting for confirmation from kegg before finishing up the site.
As for weapons check thats my position. I am annoying the the crap out of people to make sure I learn the appropriate ways to handle weapons check. If a problem does occur though please feel free to approach me in a respectful manner and everything will be handled as quickly as possible. I trust though that I have received enough information and enough "training" on the subject to handle it effectively.
Kyrian, the classes seem awesome, I would love to be there for them assuming i get a bit of spare time
We will be holding tournaments. The exact details will be available on the website which should be coming within the next 10 days(probably sooner but with most of our unit being college students we have had timing issues during turnover being forced to go home for 2-3 weeks and all) Again I am in charge of this aspect so if you have any suggestions a message would be appreciated.
Any and all help would be highly appreciated, anyone offering to help can private message me or send me an email, or simply come to me in person.
As for pricing all information will be available as soon as kegg and our unit meet up in the coming week or so.
If I missed something that I personally should have answered my apologies. Please feel free to slap me and I will give you whatever information I have.
