Spring Wars 2010: April 15-18

Postby Bevin » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:03 pm

Spring Wars 2010 is currently planned for April 15-18 at Stonehouse Park in Earlville, IL.
Squire Rukus is the event coordinator.

http://springwar.belegarth.com/

Cost will be $25 pre-reg, $30 at the door...which includes the cost of two feasts, for Friday and Saturday.

There will be silly tournies, like javelin dodgeball, sword and sandwich, and others.

Website and pre-reg will be coming VERY soon.
Information known now:

Cost will be $25 pre-reg, $30 at the door...which includes the cost of two feasts, for Friday and Saturday.

There will be silly tournies, like javelin dodgeball, sword and sandwich, and perhaps Fizzball.

There will also be an AWESOME Gladiator Pit Friday night. The proceeds will go 50/50 between Wolfpack and ISU Relay for Life. It will be a toga party, so come prepared.

If you wish to send a check please be advised that we will be cutting off the prereg for checks about a week and a half before the event so we can clear the checks first.

The website will be up with more information within the next day or so.

Haven't pre-reg'd yet? Want to help out Lady Feri?

If you pay full price for your pre-reg we will donate the extra to Lady Feri to help her through a very tough time.

PLEASE pre-reg and PLEASE help out a wonderful lady who has helped most everyone in this sport at one point or another.

We absolutely WILL be taking donations at Troll for Lady Feri. I might even make a pretty donation box, if I feel crafty before the event.

If you're there for just Friday, pay the full event fee....but make sure to check back in at Troll for a special surprise!
If you're there for just Saturday, it's $5 for just the wristband, and an additional $5 for an event token/feast.

My group has a 17 year old, and the rest of us are 20... she has a signed waiver, will there be any conflict with the chaperone?

Her waiver needs to be notarized (like, with a seal from a notary of the public), and she needs an over 21 chaperone.

Everyone under 18 at the event, regardless of fighting or not, needs to have a chaperone and signed waiver for admittance to the event.
A notary seal pretty much tells us that the waiver is legitimate, that the person who signed for an under 18 individual is truly their guardian, since the notary is licensed by the state to be an official and unbiased witness. To find one, I would check at local insurance agencies, post offices, banks, or libraries. Once you find one, ask if there's a fee. There's plenty of people who are notaries who don't charge. or...use 123notary.com

So if we can only show up on Friday and not even for feast we have to pay the full price, which is $30?

Yeah, what? I can only day-trip Friday. There's no day-trip fee? $30 is pretty steep for one day, sans feast.

Sorry, noob question, but I saw that at Chaos Wars you must have a period drinking vessel for the camping areas. I have some new players coming with me to Spring War this year and need to know if this is required at Spring War as well?

I know about the garb being required at all times for participants but I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to send me a quick PM detailing some of the more basic things some new players should cover before attending. I did read the sticky'd thread already but was curious if anything else would be nice to know before attending.

Thanks!

Don't need a period drinking vessel. Just need to be 21 :)

Bring random snacky bits. Don't just eat feast for an entire day. Even better, bring like 20 bucks and be able to eat awesome food from Feri.

Bring garb, a tent, and shower stuff. There is a shower house, which is awesome. Bring a plate/fork/bowl/cup for feast...feast gear will not be provided, but I'm sure Feri/someone will be selling paper plates before feast.

If you haven't already, checkout the website for Spring War. I'm sure lots of questions will be answered there, and, if they're not, just shoot me a PM and I'll try.

When you get to the event, come into Troll. There will be friendly people there, and if you stick around for a bit (esp. if it's busy when you come) we can give you a run down or answer questions, however silly they may seem. Or...if you have specifics, you can PM me.

Pilate I don't think there are specifically any designated friends of Bill W. but there are people who you may have some things in comon with on that note....talk to Peregrine. He is someone that would be a good person to be in touch with in this case.

I am not specifically a friend of Bill W. but am a family member of a friend if you know what I mean....
