Fidel, a guy named "Durzo" has been in contact with me saying he wanted to come. Try PMing him and see what his plans are? He lives in the SoCal area.

My car and I will already be at the PDX airport on Thursday, May 12th (due to a work trip) and will directly head to the campsite. I'm assuming I will be arriving around 1pmish as I usually do. I am more than willing to take anyone to the site that is flying in. Just let me know! There will be a car taking people back in the morning on Sunday.

LAST UPDATE BEFORE WESTERN WARS!

Well folks, we're two week's away from biggest time waster before Chao's War's.
Pre-Reg for the event ENDS MAY 11th. Get those Pre-reg's in! If I don't receive it, I'm not marking you down for it. (Unless you have a space phone that can prove it otherwise at the event)

Also, please donate an item to the Western Wars Auction if you can! All proceeds go towards the Western Wars Fund that will be opened after the even this year.

Also, BRING ID'S IF YOU PLAN TO BE DRINKING. We card EVERYONE so they can receive the correct band of being age 21 or over.

I've tried to think of anything that needs to be posted here before we all see each other and there's not much coming to mind. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who is attending this year, and a welcome to those who are flying in or attending for the 1st time.

The only thing I need to post about, is that I need help getting people from the airport to the event. There's a total of 6 people flying in this year, two of them on Wednesday and they are getting taken care of. The other four are flying in Thursday at various times though-out the day.

If anyone can help assist getting these fighter's to the event that would be great. I have the means of getting them all back to the airport on sunday.

Sybion is flying in 12:18pm Thursday Afternoon.

Dash is flying in 7:36pm Thursday Evening.

Fidel and Friend is flying in sometime Thursday Afternoon or Evening. I don't know yet.

I'm thinking that I can grab Fidel, friend, and Dash but I'll most likely be working Thursday morning so I can't get Sybion. Anybody willing to pick him up?

Ok everyone, can't wait to see you all. Please Travel Safely, be responsible, and let's all have a rocking time.

Ryu, you should totally drag Colossus out.

---

For the distinguished hooch lover, I'll be adding to the auction a bottle of Saviah Cellars' 2006 Laurella. This is a discontinued super-Tuscan wine that I picked up directly from their library cellar. 51% Sangiovese - 33% Cabernet Franc - 16% Merlot

The grapes were imported from Tuscany, giving them a unique earthy and cherry fruit quality. This is one of my top 5 red wines. And yeah, it'll get you smashed. I'll even bring a couple of glasses if you want to taste it in style.

Sadly, Pinot Noir's are hard to come by in Washington. My understanding is that the soil gets a little too cold in the winter time. But if you're into wine Remy, I'll be sure to bring a bottle or two for sharing.

Western Wars wine tasting?!?!?! Seriously, I love good wine but am a total simpleton about it. Grew up in a big Basque family where there was more wine on the table than water at dinner. So I love wine that tastes good, but I know nothing about wine. :(

That'd be cool, Giggles! Maybe we can have a wine tasting and you can introduce us ala a sommelier to the wine! Ignatious' fams got it right; there's nothing better in the world than sitting down to some homecooked food, with good people and wine to lubricate the conversation: It's the simple joys in life...

I always have to chuckle when people tell me that the Basques always have the best wines at their parties. We drink the cheapest red table wines most of the time. It's the company and the environment that make people remember it so fondly.

That said, I've tasted the difference between some better wines and Carlo Rossi and I would really like to know a little more on the subject someday.

Bishop wrote:Like anyone needs more reasons to get **** up. Whatever just don't complain when you end up with claw marks on 90% of your body and a crushed septum

Do we really not need more reasons to get **** up though? Claw marks and crushed septum probably make for a good story.

Cool mini update for everybody! I didn't think I would do it this year, but after thinking about it. I just went ahead and did it. I went and bought some solar shower bags (two) and a tent shower shelter so people can take a quick shower ON SITE instead of spending 15 minutes driving to get to a shower.

The things I do in the name of love!

Weather update - Thursday is Partly Cloudy 20% chance of rain. Friday is Partly Cloudy with 20% chance of Rain. Saturday is showers with 50% chance of rain. High of 60's low of 40's all throughout the event. So yes it will be cold but I sure hope the rain holds off until after we get a nice round of fighting in on Saturday!

I'll post about how Western Wars Actually did this year financially as soon as the rangers clear things back with me in a week or two.

Thanks for whoever destroyed a section of the stone campfire ring by the shelters. I may end up having to pay for that.

Otherwise, fantastic event made so by all the wonderful people who attended this year. We reached 80-85 persons this year with 60 arriving on the 1st night! It was nice and sunny warm weather right up until after lunch break on Saturday when it started to rain for the rest of the event.

Thank you to my assistant event coordinator Kanon for helping me and also to any and all persons who helped chop, cut, transport, and cook feast. I don't think I can say thank you enough to all of you. So Thank you again.

Also a big THANK YOU to all those who helped me out by collecting our air wizards, bringing them to the campsite and taking them back to the airport.

Thank you to all of you who traveled amazingly long distances. Itan, Orion, Fidel, Graves, Juicers van of awesome and all the Utah and Idaho peoples.

And just thank you again to everyone who helped to herald, weapons check and pretty much always helped me out when I needed it. Thanks to those who kept there campsites CLEAN and to those who stayed afterwards to help me clean up everything.

I can go on for pages. So I'll end it with a, see you all in a few weeks with my end of event post update!

First off, thank you Huma for getting this all together! It was fun as hell and I'm glad I was able to attend! I socialized more than I have in the past, and got to know some of you fine folks better. To those of you that I cooked bacon for, I'm glad you liked it (or at least said it was good), it was my pleasure to do so. Same thing as far as jamming on my didgeridoo with you drummers! I tried my best and hope it was good enough. Speaking of jamming, that concert in the cabin was AWESOME!

You guys and gals that flew in from lands afar, your company was thoroughly enjoyed! Soo-Mae(sp?), your concoctions of fruit and other tasty deliciousness were fantastic!

Once again, thank you Huma!

Thanks bro, most likely they won't be its up to the "board" to decide. The rangers already have new fire rings to replace those ones coming anyway. So hopefully the "board" won't be *. And if they do, I plan to fight it, because it sure as hell was already broken. Just kinda sucks we broke it alittle more.

This was one of the best Belegarth events ever!!! I had a blast meeting a ton of new people and miss all of you already.

I think after sleeping off and all day today I'm half way back to normal. I have no clue how many brain cells I killed off this weekend but it feels like just about the right number. :)

Again, thank you to everyone who came and everyone who worked to make this the **** awesome event that it was! I want it to be next year already for WW9.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a synopsis of the aftermath of western wars and what to expect next year.

Right now I have a poll going on facebook in the Offical Western Wars group "We Survived Western Wars" asking about when we should hold Western Wars next year.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=gro ... 3152216882

it's an open group so anybody can join. Please let you're voice be heard! Also, I'm going to make the event have an arrival day of Wednesday, with full event days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With departure on Sunday.

Also after this poll has run it's course for abit, I'll make another poll about what dates it should fall on.

Ok, I know some of you people are interested in wanting to know how Western Wars did overall this year. This year Roughly $2400 was spent on the event, also keep in mind that last year I lost $600.

The auction we held Friday night drew in $500 all on it's own. Honestly, if we didn't have the auction, things wouldn't of turned out as great as it has. Thank you to Sipris for putting it on! And for everyone who donated and bought things!

Western Wars drew in roughly $3100. Much, much higher then what I thought it had. The overall difference is that the event gained $730 in funds. $85 of this is going to the BMCS Fund, $400 is going to myself to make up for last year. I'm forgiving $200 as a donation to Western Wars.

Overall this means that Western Wars now has a fund of $275! Most likely I'll bump it up to $300 just to keep things even.

I've been talking to Par and I plan to open the account in the coming weeks. I'll be contacting a few people to be apart of the Western Wars Funds committee. Pretty much the people are in place are just to make sure funds are being spent on the event and not inappropriately. They are not required or obligated to help run the event.

So whats up next for Western Wars? Well I'm already thinking ahead, I've been in talks with a few people about holding Western Wars on some private land. As much as I love the Beacon Rock site, it's expensive and I'd rather not keep paying high event fee's if we don't have too.
I'm always open to suggestions about where to hold the event, or if you know someone who owns some private land we can hold it on. Please feel free to contact me.

I'm making this a life quest of mine to eventually have a place to call our own and not have the site jump around willy nilly like it has been. I'm making big plans and I hope that one day they can be followed though. Thanks for all the support everyone has given. I hope to be apart of Western Wars for many years to come!
