Day-trippers can sign out for a pleasant surprise. We will designate people for you to check out with once troll closes on Saturday.

You must have a STATE ISSUED PHOTO ID to gain entry into Springwars.

The event rules will follow the Belegarth Book of War. Which means minimum garb is REQUIRED to fight.

Start working on your awesome garb and characterization now. There will be awards and recognition for both, including best garb, best armor, great characterization, and other awards as we make them up. There will also be a Pomp and Circumstance award for the group that puts together the best field entrance.

There will be a scenario battle on Saturday. Please see Morpheus' post here

Saturday feast will be a fancy feast presented by Theros. There will be a nice garb requirement, and those well dressed will be rewarded with the first entries to feast. If you want to eat early, you have all winter to get that gear together :)

There will also be a variety of classes available, with more details once we have them hammered out.

Some helpful answers to questions:

Fire Wood:

Will there be a supply available? - Yes.
How much will the supply cost if anything at all? - $5/milk crate
Do we have to head out to the woods to get it ourselves? - You can pick up deadfall. do not cut down any live trees.
If we have to get it ourselves are there any restricted areas? - No, as long as you stay on park property.
Whats the ruling on bringing firewood. (Know that was restricted at one point) - You are not allowed to bring your own firewood. This is to prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer in the park.

Fire pits:

The larger units and groups get first pick of space and sites, - Well, really, there are some sites that are a certain group's site because they have put in work cleaning it up or helping prior to the event.
What about smaller groups, how does the access to fire pits work? - Most sites have fire rings. if not, one can probably be brought to you.
Do we dig our own pits? - No
Should we bring fire rings? - If you have one, go for it.
Are there available grills to cook on? - No.

Check the link above for the pre-reg list. I'm getting lazy, and I'm not copying it over again.

No, it's usually around the 15th. We considered having it a little later this year, but it would start running into Beltane and the home stretch to Ike and Tobin's wedding.

This sounds like awesome! I liked all the silly Things that people did out west, when we visited, and I am excited to see some of that back out here. Count me in!

This is just a quick announcement so people can start getting things together for the SUPER AWESOME FANCY FEAST I will be presenting on Saturday evening at Springwars.

It will be held in the 3-bay barn rain or shine.

Nice garb will be required to participate in the festivities. By "nice garb" I mean something clean and not full of holes. Pants and a clean tunic will be sufficient. Although it would be great if people went a bit beyond that. This is going to be a nice photo opportunity after all!

If you do not wish to participate there will be leftovers. Although why you wouldn't want to be at my amazing feast is beyond me.

As additional incentive I will be providing a keg of Fancy Beer out of my own pocket for all of the over 21 crowd who want to join in the merriment. Please make sure that you have your over 21 wristband with you.

Feast gear is NOT being provided. Please make sure that you have something to eat with. If you need something I will be bringing a box of plates and forks from goodwill. Find me before feast, I'll let them go REALLY cheap.

The tentative menu is as follows:

Marinated and grilled pork loin
Vegitarian Lasagna
Garlic cheddar potatoes
Roasted vegetable couscous dressed with olive oil and fresh basil
Fresh green beans sauteed with rosemary and bacon
Flat bread
Cheese
Pita chips and hummus
Honey butter AND Garlic butter
Sweet tea
Dessert TBA

This is a feast not to be missed!

If you have questions or comments please send them to me via PM.

Thanks for your time!

Is there a menu planned yet for Friday night? I have food issues, so I'm wondering if I should plan my own meal or not, because I'd reaaaaaaaaaaaally like to not cook.

One has not been finalized. If there is something specific you need to avoid, let us know, either here, or in private, so we can see if it is something we can work with within our menu.

Generally, WP will have vegetarian options, although not always vegan.

And watch this topic: pre-reg instructions will be going up later tonight or tomorrow morning.

And the Kumpania reserves the right to laugh and harass. We encourage all participents to adhere to the spirit of the minimum garb rules, but we will only enforce them on field. As there are usually vendors selling garb, there isn't any excuse to not meet minimum garb requirements.

And at Fancy Feast. As Theros wrote, nice garb is required for Saturdays Feast. Nice meaning clean and not full of holes.

We also will have a Best Garb award.

Feel free to stop on by! We gladly accept volunteers, particularly at troll.

Really, this goes for anyone. Ask to volunteer, the worse that can happen is the coordinator goes, "nah, we're good right now" and you get the satisfaction of trying.

Several members of Wolfpack have their birthdays during the week we usually have Spring Wars. It's been a tradition within WP to have a birthday party the first day of Spring Wars to celebrate. Some years it's a "techno rave" party, most of the time it's having cupcakes at Troll.

It's a selfish thing, I'm April 15 myself, and * it, it's been years since I had a birthday that wasn't at Spring Wars.

Send in the information for multiple people, send in the cash for the same amount of people as the information. Come to springwars, get your names checked off the pre-reg list. Fill out waivers, go have an enjoyable weekend fighting, eating feast etc.

AWESOME! What's the plan for this year? Yeah, last year I came down to SW the day after my birthday. This year, I'll be at the whole thing! It's the first birthday that'll get to spent with friends in since my 18th or 19th and first time I'll get to do anything for it since...my 16th....and I'm turning 25. Gotta say, I'm looking forward to the event even more because of this now. :)

probably more along the lines of cupcakes at Troll Thursday night, since we're running the shebang. It's not usually a big thing, just something fun for the folks that don't do other birthday plans.

However, if anyone brings me a carvel ice cream cake, I will be your friend. :)

The pork will not have any nor will the potatoes or green beans.

I'm not using any except in the Middle eastern inspired dishes.

Spend time at troll and find out!

In other news: we are working the kinks out of the waiver system we started last year. We are in the awesome position that since we run Opener, we have a huge collection of waivers that we consider good for an entire year.

So, if you filled out a waiver completely, correctly and is readable by several people who work in special ed, you may not have to sign a waiver at Troll! Combine this with being pre-registered and all you might have to do is show ID and sign in!

I know these question are asked every year. but just rather err on the side of caution. Also probably good for those who are coming to their first event and don't know.

Fire Wood:

Will there be a supply available?
How much will the supply cost if anything at all
Do we have to head out to the woods to get it ourselves?
If we have to get it ourselves are there any restricted areas?
Whats the ruling on bringing firewood. (Know that was restricted at one point)

Fire pits:

The larger units and groups get first pick of space and sites,
What about smaller groups, how does the access to fire pits work?
Do we dig our own pits?
Should we bring fire rings?
Are there available grills to cook on?
Look to the red moon. Its bloody omen spells death for those who travel unarmed through Nagasaki!

Thank you. Yeah, the questions come up every year, thought I'd be the one to break the ice and get it out the way.

Please note a clarification in the first post: You are not allowed to bring your own firewood, due to the park trying to prevent Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Stonehouse has beautiful trees. We would like to keep it that way.

Yeah I remember that being the reason before, just thought it good to have it clarified for everybody as people do forget, and we always have new people coming to events. And I know that when it comes to those little suckers its an incredible major pain in neck to get rid of them if you can at all.

Has Friday's feast menu been finalized or is that still TBA?

The incidentals are TBA, but it's going to be a simple Hamburger/Hot Dog and for the Catholics and Veg* out there, a meatless chili. The shopping is being done this weekend and we should know sides after that.

If there is something you'd like grilled at the same time, bring it with and we can (probably) throw it on if you ask.
