On June 11 a magic the gathering convention is meeting at the mile high stadium. The event organizers contacted the leader of our Bel park in Grand Junction and invited us to play on the field during the convention. We were told to bring as many people as wanted to come.

Invesco Field is in Denver, Colorado and is the football stadium of the Denver Broncos. (Woot.) The event is eight dollars.

We are still waiting on some of the details! Any specific questions anyone wants to ask, feel free. There is a good chance we have already thought of them and are waiting for all the details but ask anyway and we will forward questions.

What is needed: People to help run an event.

Organizers

I picture this as more of an informal event, not a camp out but a gathering of Bel players who may duck out for some card games throughout the course of the day. Game types will need to be planned, though. So if playing in a football stadium is cool to you and you have ideas on what would be fun, let me know if there is a game type you would like to play and be an organizer.

Reeves and weapons checkers are needed as always. Our unit is new and lacks the experience to truly spearhead the event on our own.

When I say trainers, I mean people willing to explain the rules, clearly, thouroughly, and efficiently. I imagine a number of magic players will see the fun and want to join in as first timers. Maybe every half hour or so we will have a short class gathering all the prospective players so we aren't instructing one or two at a time. Who teaches these should cycle, I hope, so that no one spends the whole day doing this service.

Thanks everyone and I apologize for the lack of certain details and the know-how/man power to truly host something. Right now, I am throwing this out there. My goal is to get feedback on what you all need to know before planning on coming. (I don't expect anyone to make plans on this event at it's current stage of development.) I need to know who would be interested in helping even if they don't make a commitment right now.

yes that would be kewl if they werent on strike they might take u up on it anywho hey so i'm getting the days off and a group of Idaho/Utah ppl to go what time does this shin-dig start and is there a number i could get ahold of someone down there were planning on leaving rigby ID at 8 or 9 pm should get into denver around 6 or 7 AM might leave a bit later depending if u could PM me a number and a name i could get ahold of that would be great M-k ^_^ ty i'm stoked!!

First, a few questions. Archers and arrows. Are they allowed on the field? Some places have rules prohibiting projectile weapons, and an event like this may very easily be one of them. Tournaments. Will there be any? I would love to make a show of this. Outside food and drink. Can I bring it? Events like this often have majorly overpriced food and most of my budget is going to be in getting there from Utah.

Second, my offerings to the event. Can do weapons checks, be a harold, and teach noob classes. Let me know what needs doing and I will get it done.

Third, a few suggestions. From my understanding, this event sounds kinda large from the gamer's side of things. Will they inevitably see us or will our presence be hear-say? I suggest printing a few cheap fliers out to post in the rooms where people will be playing Magic to let them know We are there and they are welcome. Also on the subject of walk-ons, as host you will want to have a rather large stock pile of loaner weapons on hand for those who are interested. Finally, who was at Chaos Wars XIV? Remember Chaos Ball? Heck yeah. We are on a football field. Some games of Chaos Ball, Blood of heroes, Capture the flag, etc are going to be perfectly set up. Also consider bringing rope or something to change up the field for some games. IE Make a river in the center of the field that can only be crossed by a bridge. Castle defense battles. Things like that. Don't make it an Amtguard event, but add some flair for those who it might bring in.

Quorren, have you tried to reach out to Mordor? That is their backyard after all. I'd think they'd be all over this like orcs on hobbits.

Ok I have talked with the guy with the lacrosse team. The more people that can commit the more time we will have at the field. Please send a head count so I can relay the message to this guy. The fighting ends like 5:30 or 6 pm cause there's a lacrosse game that night and the fans will move into the stadium then. I've asked about sleeping area, arrows those will be brought to the stadium peeps and answered hopefully soon. Food can be brought but left outside and from the way it sounds we will be fighting in specific areas. Thank you for the interest everyone

So do we know what time gates open? We just need to know so that we can plan when to leave Provo. We're going to plan to be there from the very beginning so I can help with weapon checking. Also, any word yet on those arrows?

Ok heres some more info guys. Arrows will NOT be allowed sorry about that. Crash space the guy is saying it should be good and it should be in the tailgating area. Now as for when the gates open to the event that will be determined by participants. So please send me or post how many of you will be coming and I will relay the numbers to this guy. The more that come the earlier and longer we will have the area. Thank yiou again for your interest.

I'm stoked we r planning on leaving provo probably around midnite or just before I think or we were gonna leave around 8 pm and crash somewhere so its an 8.5 ish hour drive from provo so we'll either be there around 4 am or 8 am

All right, if you plan on going to this event, send me a PM. Things have happened, job developments, etc. and Mag Mell, (Arco and I,) probably won't make it. Now, we were never hosting the event in the first place. So that doesn't mean it won't happen. But there is no overnight parking and I have no idea how many people are going to show up. We've talked to some local parks but most things are still up in the air. We may be able to work somethong out. So just PM me.
