Are these dates hard set? And isn't that like a week before Octoberfest?

Isn't EQ usually the week before? To coincide with the fall equinox?

And to stay 2 weeks away from 'Fest? So the northerners can actually attend?

Normally there is a 2 to 3 week break before 'Fest, or at least that is what I remember. I could be wrong. :)

No, you're right BAM. It's always 2 weeks before 'Fest. At least it has been for the past 4 years I've attended anyway.

For real, i had to ask off for EQ back in January. I asked off for the weekend of the 23rd, cause that is when it always is. To change it now will be difficult. Can we get a verification on the date, just to make sure?

The Elite will be hosting EQ this year along side Dur Demarion. And to stop confussion now, no this unit is not the EBF. Also Slaug will have pre-reg up soon.

To let everyone know ahead of time : Check in will probably not start until after 4:00 pm. We have to do the walk through with the park rangers. If anyone is found inside camp group one (without permission) before this time, you will be asked to leave and will not be aloud back into the event.

Also, PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED by EVERYONE and every CHAPERONED MINOR must have a NOTARIZED WAVIER. If you do not have this items then you will not be aloud into the event. Chaperons please keep in mind that you are only aloud to have 2 minors under your care and that your minors must stay within eye range at all times.

If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.

At least. I know the cabins for Beltaine are usually gone by mid-March. Same is true for EQ normally. I think Dur-D is having trouble getting things organized this year for some reason.

Pre-reg for EQ will start on Aug 21 at Midnight. This up coming Sunday. Pre-reg price has lowered to 10 dollars. Gate fee will be 15 dollars. Now this is only for this EQ. We hope that the price difference will make up for the inconvenience of not have pre-reg available sooner. If anyone has any questions please let us know.

EQ XXI "Pay it Forward"

EQ XXI, Will have two themes this year "Pay it Forward" and " EQ Unit Olympics "

Our goal this year is to have a small, friendly, fun event that focuses on everyone pulling together to create an atmosphere that is different from the real world. Our plan is to have the majority of people leave saying that “everyone just seemed to be lighter, happier and more caring about their fellow fighters than ever before!”

A lofty goal but we can do it. Come be a part!

Anthrax TornHorn President DD

"Pay it Forward"

To encourage the “pay it forward” attitude of appreciation, recognition and reward for personal achievement we are going to do the following:

During the event the heralds and DD officers will award many prizes randomly and on the spot for things like laughter, awesome deaths, epic fighting or even for just picking up a piece of trash. The most coveted prize will be the PiF necklace. A Herald will award the two PiF necklace's to a fighter for a great death, awesome individual battle achievement, or just for smiling a lot and having fun.

Then some time during the weekend the fighter will “pay it forward” and award one of the two necklaces to another fighter when they see an action worthy of a reward.

At Feast every one with a PiF necklace will be in the drawing for the "Pay It Forward Grand Prize". ( you must be present to win, must have your necklace)

EQ Unit Olympics

There will be 9 Olympic Events held Saturday. One point will be awarded to the winner of each of the 9 events. The Unit with the most points will be the EQ Olympic Unit Champion and earn a Grand Prize.

Saturday Fighting Tournaments (5pm events 1-5)

1. Sword and Board (4 limit of entries per unit) (prize = sash)
2. Red Sword ( 4 limit of entries per unit) (prize = sash)
3. Javelin (limit 3 participants per unit max) (prize = etched 24oz glass mug)
4. Two Man Tank ( two man team tanked out, any weapons, must be same unit to earn a unit team point (prize = 2 x champions sash)

Saturday Night Events (after feast in the feast hall during the presidential promise "Ice Cream Party")
We will have the Olympic events 5-9 and awards presentation of all 9 event champions..

5. Big Brain Competition ( 3 people per unit max). Each participate will start with a 25 multiple choice trivia quiz, beginning at the same time they will race to finish, placing their completed quiz on the judging table as fast as possible. The quizzes will be checked in order of completion. The first correct quiz will be the big brain champion. (Prize = etched champions mug)

6. Toughest Person Competition (two person per unit max) Participants will hold a roll of pennies straight out in each hand and the person who lasts the longest will win the point for their unit. (Prize = etched champions mug)

7. Agility Competition ( one person per unit max) This is a high jump competition, max two steps and must land on two feet after clearing bar. To advance to the next round and you must clear the bar first attempt. Champion will jump the highest with out a miss ( prize = etched mug)

8. Strongest Man Competition (one person per unit max). Each participant will bench press around 150 pounds. The winner will do the most reps (prize = etched champions mug)

9. Archery (one person per unit max) Each shooter must have a target holder, unit mate. The target will be held above the holders head. Each shooter will have two shots to hit the target. If they hit the target they will qualify to advance . ( prize = etched champions mug)

Everyone will yell and cheer-on their unit mates in these epic struggles of mind and body. In the end a Unit Champion of EQ XXI will be crowned, and stories will be told of these achievements until the end of time!

I'd like to invite some local pro photographers to take pictures at Equinox on Saturday. I'll tell them they need to leave by dark. Who do I need to ask about this ?

BTW, I'm hoping to teach a beginners photography class Saturday at 11am in the Feast hall. Then leading a photo walk around the battlefield and campground until 3pm. Finally meeting at the feast hall to go over our pictures. Best photo of the day wins a prize.

Plain on check in starting at 4:30pm but it could change depending on when the park ranger finishes the walk through. ( No one is allowed in the park during that time except for the people doing the walk through. ) Now for vendors the rules for check in have not changed. If anyone has anymore questions please let me know.

Yes thank you for having Me and my Unit at this years Equinox. I would like to say a very deep from the bottom of my heart a hearty thank you to those in charge of the event and those that came to the event.

"House", The unit based off members of the Original House Le'Fey did indeed win the Unit Olympics and all the members of the Unit would like to thank those for being great opponents. It was great moment for us that we never expected would actually happen..As we went into the Olympics only with the intent of just making a showing. Most of us are still stunned at the victory.

To the "Sons of Tara" I would like to add a personal Thank you for visiting from one of the Carolina's,( Not sure if it's North or South Carolina) and being such a great opponent. I would also like to tell your blonde female archer.. GREAT SHOOTING on Saturday. It's not many I run into that make me jealous with their archery skills. You are a great archer and it was a pleasure to work with you on the field. And I would like to see and meet the Sons of Tara in person at Beltane if you all can make it.

Thank you Thrax for a great challenge and one hell of contest of skill and wits.

May we see you all at Beltane.
And once again.. thank you for having us.

Signed,
Master Lockesly Lefey of House Le'Fey

Dear Tennessee aka Dur Demarion

For next year, I would like to request that you run EQ the weekend after Labor Day and please NOT the week before October-Fest. I hope those that were able to go to EQ this year had a great time. EQ is an event I planned on going to every year, but it cannot be done taking two weekends off in a row with real life being what it is, meaning restrictive. I am more than positive that if spaced out EQ would have had at least plus fifty in attendance, if that is any incentive. If it were just three or preferably four weekends apart from the next big event I know a lot more people would be there as it has always been a favorite event.

Thank you for your consideration

It looked like a pretty small EQ, what were the final numbers?

Eq was great this year. I would like to give a big thanks to the Elite for all their hard work, you guys did a great job. Also to Thrax for running some amazing tournaments, and to Snotbelly for running a great feast both Fri and Sat. For all of you who participated in the tournaments and the Pit Fighting I hope you all had a great time. I would also like to congratulate Sir Viper on winning this years Icon award. All the work you have put in over the last 17yrs has not gone unnoticed and we appreciate all the time and work you are still putting in to Dur Demarion and our events. Thank you to everyone who cleaned up their camps and got out on time we greatly appreciate it, the park ranger said it was the cleanest he had ever seen it. Can't wait to see you all at Beltaine.

The finial count at Troll was 210. As far the dates for next years Eq we can only work with the dates that the park gives us, but are trying to reserve dates early in Sep. (This time around those where the only dates they had available.)
