So my realm is intrested in holding an event Because we are right between San Fran And LA, just a day event to start small, kinda get our name out there like "Hey we exist!" and have fun. There are alot of parks in the area we could reserve and such, and we were thinking about Novemeber sometime to hold it. Since its a day event this is mostly for the people in California, maybe some within other states nearby who'd like to attend. We are trying to see if it'll be a good idea to hold the event, get an idea if people would even like to attend. Because we are right between San Fran And LA.

What im looking for is if you'd even want to attend, and if november is a good time to hold the event. Im not nearly looking for a huge turn out. Maybe 20-30 fighters since school and work and such. But getting a general idea would be great!

If this is in the wrong place, please move it or let me know, and i'll repost!

For me it depends on whether it conflicts with Society for Neuroscience in DC.Nov. 12-16, 2011. I may need to attend that for work. But otherwise, I'd totally be down, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Anduril people would be there whether I can attend or not.

Since It is during november, and school and work are an issue, it would be a saturday on the weekend, i was thinking the 18th, Yet again, this is just the planning phase. And trying to get an estimate.

That sounds promising. I'll ask around during our next couple practices and see how many folks would be interested.

It would be about a 5 hour drive from San Diego, right?

Yes it is. Hopefully we can get this event going, Blitz is puting alot of thought into this thing so hopefully it will happen. All I'm worried about is our members here not in garb but when is that not an issue any realm. But hopefully this event will happen this november if all works out, we were throwing around a name and mabye will call It The Cail Closer. And what better way than to end the season than right in the middle of the state.

My unit Witherwood Company is working on garb whenever we can afford it. Slowly, but surely.

I want us to host an event, even a small one, but I'm still not so sure about getting one in by November. But hey, if we really can do it, then I guess all power to us, right?

And as far as names go...

Cail Closer? Or did you mean Cali Closer?

My suggestion is Valley of Fire, but it really only works if we held it in the summer. Either that or we get permission from whatever park we host at to start fires but somehow I don't see that working out too well for anybody.

Another suggestion is Day of the Dead. Maybe kind of a halloween/dia de los muertos thing, even if it isn't held on either of the actual holidays.

Just some thoughts.

ummmmm.......yeah I don't see how either of those things relate to anything. Cali Closer would make sence seeing that it would be the last battle in California for the season.

Just go ahead and HAVE your day event.
You don't need and shouldn't expect people from out of state to drive in to Cali for a 1 day event unless they have freinds or family there. People do not usually get a hotel room for 80 bucks to sleep in for $5 worth of fighting.
When you bump it up to an event with camping, more people from further away will be interested.
Why do you think all of the events in Utah and MOST of the events in Idaho are capmouts? Becuase everyone likes to sleep outside? Hell no, it's becuase everyone has to drive 5 hours to get there. You need to sleep on either end of properly intense fighting.

This probably isn't the best forum for asking when/ if you should have an event. There are other places for that. But when you do decide, Delia and I will try and get a decent group up from Andor.

Well this was my best bet were to ask lol. And were meeting this saturday to fine tune and discuss everything, hopefully we'll move forward. * People graduating and not having free time lol.
