Seriously?!?! That's finals week for school/graduation for a lot of colleges and high schools, besides only a few weeks before Geddon! Great, now I don't know if I can go.

Thanks all the people who complained about it being in April! Couldn't go to WPO, can't make Mux Mini. Was really looking forward to seeing everyone come April, finally being able to fight again, and getting to celebrate few birthdays (including my own) with all my friends. So much for that. See you all in 3-4 months...maybe.

Sorry that you may not be able to make it, but those are the dates. Last year I was helping run Spring Wars and couldn't make it because of a prior commitment. **** happens.

Protip: You aren't the only person in Belegarth. Event coordinators do not go out of their way to set event dates just to make it difficult for one/a few persons to get to an event. Instead of complaining to the people who are taking time out of their busy lives to host an event for everyone to enjoy, an better option to consider would be: If you've been a good student all semester and made friends with your professors, perhaps you could work out taking your finals early. Tell them you have a prior engagement that you have been planning on attending for a long time and that you would greatly appreciate it if they could help you out. Even if you aren't friends yet, there's still plenty of time before to go win friends and influence people. You may even get a sweet reference for down the road out of the deal.

Yeah, sorry about that venting which shouldn't have happened. Just was really looking forward to stuff and, well, **** keeps happening. No bel events until May or June? Kind of sucks and I'm sure many would agree with me. I miss my friends and was looking forward to seeing them.

I am still standing by though that this may make things more difficult for a lot of people with school since that is when many school (high school and college) have finals and graduations. (And no, my school isn't one of them so I'm not making it about me here.)

Its actually something we've discussed before. One reason we've always held it so early was because of ISU finals/graduation and the lead up into it. And well, we're doing an experiment: Unreliable weather versus potential smaller student attendance.

Take your finals early and ditch graduation. Wouldn't you rather be fighting anyways?

This just became a possibility for the Canadian Realms. We are thinking on it. Thank you for the dates far enough in advance for people to book time off. I am not saying this is an 100% we are going to be there, but it became a much higher possibility since our exams fall during the traditional April dates of this event.

At this time, unless some sort of miracle happens, and I can get basically 2 weeks off this close together, SW is a no-go for this Canadian. I know Xavier and Ludy are thinking about it. With this in May, and Geddon 2 weeks later in June I just do not think I will be able to do both.

Seeing as that's not only finals, but also graduation/commencement for seniors at U of I, ISU (and many other colleges) it shouldn't be that surprising. The student population are the ones who can pre-reg easily without worrying about their job and whether they will need to work.

I don't know what college you attended, but you're lucky. The vast majority of professors aren't that nice. Even the professors that love me wouldn't do so without an actual reason (non-event non-vacation) because it involves so much red tape and writing a whole new final exam (especially for those of us in majors that don't involve essays). Teachers, alas, can be just as lazy as the rest of us.

Hey guys. an issue im running into is my buddy has not been able to get a coppy of his Birth Certificate to get an ID, for Geddon he was able to bring his school ID and a document with his name and birthdate on it that way we could link it up. could this still please be a possibility this year for spring wars? Just trying to get as many from the realm as possible. He is 18 just never got his licence and some other personal issues prevented him from gettin the id. So if someone could PM me or reply that would be great. Please and thanks again

It will depend on the documents. what type are they? also, I just want to be sure that the school ID has a picture. But if the names do match and the document is legal then there should not be a problem.
