It's that time again folks. That's right! Time to announce the rules of the 3rd Annual Bel Bowl. The Bel Bowl will take place on Sunday, January 19th at 1pm on the Special Fighting Events Field (where it normally is). Heralded fighting will continue on the main fighting field. So get your teams together and prepare for the most intense and most skilled fighting that will take place during the entirety of the event. Here are the rules:

• A point is scored when the team on Offense successfully transports a designated member of their team (a.k.a “the ball”) across a goal line (player must be alive)
• The team on Offense loses the match if their designated “ball” is killed
• The player designated as the “ball” is immune to any damage done by a projectile
• A team cannot score a point while on Defense
• The team which is on Defense begins the match on the goal line. The team which is on Offense will begin outside of it
• Each team will have three opportunities to score a point
• At the end of both teams’ three attempts, the team with the most points is the victor. In the event of a tie, the tie will be settled by a standard field battle between the two teams
• The matches will take placed in an enclosed space. Crossing these boundaries will result in instant death for both the ball and regular players.
• Archery will not be permitted. Use of other projectiles is allowed.
• Armor will be counted
• Teams must have a minimum of 8 members and a maximum of 10. In the event that the competing teams are uneven, the team with the greater number of members will be asked to sit out members to make the teams equal. Teams may switch out players in between matches. This is to encourage smaller and younger groups to participate.
• Each team will designate a figurehead captain who will be ceremonially beheaded in the event of defeat
• The tournament will be conducted single-elimination style

In order to ensure simplicity in running the tournament, the number of teams which may participate is limited to either 8 or 16. This being the case, registering for the tournament will be on a first come, first serve basis. Teams that register later will be put on standby for participation. Teams (and a team name) must be registered with no fewer than 6 people by Saturday, January 18 by 6pm, and must have a minimum of 8 members by 12pm on January 19. If a team fails to have a minimum of 8 members by that time, they will be replaced by the first team on standby which has the minimum amount of members required to play. Teams are encouraged to register with their realms and units, but will not be forced to do so. Should you wish to register your team at ANY time before these dates, please send me a PM with your team name and the names of no fewer than six members. And yes, there will be awesome prizes for the winners.

DON'T FORGET: Directly preceding the tournament, teams will have the opportunity to parade onto the field in the Bel Bowl Field Procession. So, organize as elaborate, creative, and coordinated of an entrance as possible. If you need special accommodation for your entrance, please let us know ahead of time. The entrances will be judges on these five factors:
-Originality
-Intimidation Factor
-Unified Appearance
-Entertainment Value
-Aztec/Tribal Themed

The winners of the Field Processions will receive:
-Cool Aztec-themed tokens
-Priority Entrance into our Sunday Sundae Party
-Priority Entrance into BftR7 Feast
-Bragging rights of sexiness
-The eternal favor of the God of Cheese, Quesocoatl

I encourage you all to start coordinating these things ahead of time. The Bel Bowl is quickly evolving into the premiere event that takes place at Battle for the Ring, and you can be a part of that awesomeness!
