Hi. Nice to meet you all.

I've been lurking for a few days and thought it was finally time to come out of hiding.

As an amateur film-maker, I have done some sword choreography in the past, but no real fighting, so I am pretty excited for the 2010 Bel season to start. I, of course, have no garb and no weapons. But I'm working on it.

Anyway, just thought I'd say 'hi', and I hope to be trading blows with you all in the near future.

EDIT...I forgot to mention that I am in the Salt Lake area, nestled comfortably between Eded Duath and Aquilonia. :-)

There were some practices being held in SLC last year and I think they said they will start them again once the snow moves out. I think Magnus was running the show. Someone from your 'hood should be along shortly, but in the meantime welcome and we look forward to seeing you when we're up for events.

Hey, I am told there is a Utah specific forum, but that I need to be given access to it by a moderator. Any one on that can hook a guy up?

Go into the user control panel, go to the usergroups section from the menu on the left, scroll through the groups and request to join the groups that interest you.

Welcome, I am one of the New Admins for the Aquilonia realm up here in Ogden. We hold practices Tuesdays at 5pm starting March 2nd at Riverdale Park. So if you ever in the area feel free to drop by and visit. As for the garb issue it comes with time. My wife Kye is one hell of an artist when it comes to that sort a thing. Me not so much but there plenty of help out there, you just gotta ask.

Also, I applied to a bunch of usergroups a few days ago and have yet to be approved for any of them. Can someone help me out with that?

Were gonna be tentatively getting SLC practices running again in March on thursdays, if that is the good for all involved. Ogden has great practices, you should definitely check em out.

As for the usergroups, I think our webmaster is moving or something, and does not have web access for a few days, he should be back soon.

Thanks Magnus! I am most interested in the SLC practices, but I do want to go and visit some of the other nearby realms.

And thanks for the heads up on the webmaster. I was beginning to think nobody liked me

that sucks for us Ered Duath guys. Thats when our weekly Practice is.

The official start of Ered Duath's fighting season is the 2nd week of March.

We meet every Thursday from 6 or 7pm until 11pm or the cops kick us out (whichever is later).

When you're in the area, swing by 5th North and 5th West in Provo and you're sure to see us.

Easy, Trovan. They'll get you added, but the Utah forum is really slow (2 posts so far this year) so don't feel like you are missing all the action.

Don't worry about the usergroups too much.

I applied for like fifteen of them six months back and got three so far.

I get the feeling that if its not here on the public boards, no one really pays attention.

Course after a year i still can't post in the rule discussion forum. Must be an exclusive sort of thing. *shrug*

We must not be sleepin' with the right people :-)

I've been to the a Belegarth that was happening on saturdays last year. At one point they were getting everyone together to learn how spells work so I left. I have yet to return but my heart just wants to move back to the valley just so I can play rough with all the people in Provo. I loved going down there every Thursday to fight, Not play harry potter.

um, amtgard plays at the same park as belegarth on saturdays. We practice on mondays so you was at amtgard not belegarth.

Indeed. You were at the Amtgard Practice. Fun folks, but not really hard fighters and definetly not Belegarth.
I highly recomend you go out on Monday at about 6:30pm. Same place in Liberty Park. You can't find a tougher fight.
Also, in the future, asking what group you are fighting with and what their rules are is a good idea.
