My only two cents would be that if you follow the SCA practice of allowing headshots, you get some headgear quick. As you guys grow and progress in your fighting, you'll learn to deliver some pretty wicked shots with what you're swinging, and it will be pretty massively unsafe to unprotected heads. Otherwise, it looks like fun.

Enjoy the fighting, and welcome to the Bel boards.

bad part is we hit pretty hard in the head some people have even been split open but we try to make our weapons the consistancy of a boxing glove. so its hard enough to rock you but not kill ya . We call it heavy boff its a blast. kinda dangerous but awesome.

Whatevs, man. If you guys are cool splitting scalps open, that's your business. I'll tell ya right now, you'll find no love for it here. I'm a big guy, and I've hurt my opponents at times. I **** hate it, and I still regret a few of 'em a lot.

If you guys want to get involved in our game, the standards here are a bit different.

How the weapon feels doesn't necessarily mean that its safe for head hits. At Ides of March IV, this guy had a 25 lb hammer. It felt like a massive pillow. It had knocked out 3 guys already from accidental headshots as of March.

Headshots are a bad idea unless you get proper helmets...at least, that's my say on the matter.

Our group is a little rough but we try to avoid injuries weve only had 3 major injuries in 8 years one broken finger and a couple split eyebrows it has not been too bad but yeah we need to chill and maybe stop the whole fight club vibe with my group.
We did bare knuckle fighting but we needed to chill with that so we switched to sticks about 8-10 years ago.
I was inspired by the tuchux group in the S.C.A.
I was a Tuchux for about 4 years before I started this.
Right on guys thanks for the input.

Heh. Tuchux are **** crazy. I love those guys. That explains a lot. I'm afraid to admit, Tuchux are a little more intense than anything you'll find here. Like I said, man, it's all on you. If you're having fun, don't let anybody ruin it for ya.

You would be more than welcome at any event you come to. Your weapons would have to pass our standards to be legal (check out our rule book at: http://www.belegarth.com/rules.php) and to fight with them on the field. You would also have to get away from those headshots :(

I know there's a realm in Bloomington.

Don't know about the rest.

Check out the realm list on geddon.org.

Right on guys I cant wait to come try this out it seems great Im gonna try to tone down the overall ultraviolence that came with doing the S.C.A. heavy fighting . But I might try to contact the bloomington fighters and set up some type of fighting thingy.

IDK about that. From all the fighting I have done, both SCA and Dag/Bel. I would say that Dag/Bel fighting is much more violent. The only real difference between the two styles is the head shots and below the knees shots. We also allow for grappling, shield bashing, charging attacks, attacks from the rear quadrant, body checking, etc. I have found that we tend to be much more physical, move more and fight just as hard. Unless you are punching people or kicking them (which is against the rules), as long as you stay off the headshots, you'll find no need to tone anything back.
