Hey hey! Welcome to the boards.

Aquilonia in Ogden, then Ered Duath in Provo are your closest neighbors.

I'm sure Forkbeard will be around sometime tomorrow to set you straight. Get access to the Utah Belegarth and Western Belegarth Forums here on the boards as well.

You might just do well to head to Ogden - in fact:

From their wiki page
Current practices 6pm till dusk at Riverdale Park on Tuesdays, weather permitting,
6pm till dusk at Layton Park on Sundays, weather permitting

We start practices in Riverdale on Tuesday.

I'm sure Forkbeard will come around to post the details.

Request access to the Aquilonia forum here:

We have all been affiliated with forkbeard and that is the reason why we want to start our own relm. No offense to Forkbeard.

Then I suggest you join Acheron in SLC. Not sure who their realm rep. is though.

Starting a realm in Layton isn't a good idea. It's too close to two already existing realms, one of which has voting rights and is very well established. The other realm (Acheron) has speaking rights, so it is very likely it's still around.

Layton is too close to the othe realms to have its own group.
We would love to have you at our practice. It sstarts Tuesday feb 1 at. 4 pm.
why do you want to start another offical practice within our realm. All tje people who would potentialy come to your practice already attend practice in riverdale 5minute away from you..
posting for my phone is new, sorry
we have been talking about having a practice in layton again, though. What day of the week would you like to have practice? Most ost our group would love to practice 2 time a week.
i would, like to ask, why do you feel that there NEEDS to be another realm her? Did you know that i do not run our realm? Did you know that you can be your own autonomous unit within the realm and make all your own rules(aside from BoW combat rules)? Most importtantly, what are you hoping to gain by starting a new realm?
i can tell you now that a new realm located inside w others as close as us and Acheron will never gain voting rights. You are just too close to is geographicly. All of you population already has a vote on WC
please, just come to practice.

i would suggest that you and your friends form your own unit but still be part of the larger realm. that way you can still be your own entity yet get to practice on a larger field against more fighters, which is always the best option for meeting people and fighting more.

if you and your friends want to fight every day as well as attend realm practices, then that's even better!

I copied this from the Belegarth Bylaws. It pertains to forming and being considered an "active realm". I've bolded particular items of note.

Article 15: Realms

  • 15.1. What is a Realm: A community or territory that has an active status in the BMCS.
  • 15.2. An active realm in BMCS:
  • 15.2.1. Must have and maintain at least ten (10) active members for a one-year period. An active member is defined as a person who participates in realm activities and represents the realm during inter-realm events.
  • 15.2.2. Must register with the BMCS. Either contacting an Officer of BMCS, and/or the BMCS UBB.
  • 15.2.3. Must use the rules for combat based on those contained within the Book of War of the BMCS. A realm may develop realm-specific rules. However, the national rules will be used during any inter-realm event.
  • 15.2.4. Must not be within 20 miles of another BMCS realm. Alternatively, if within 20 miles of another BMCS realm then must have at least ten (10) active members separate from the other realm.
  • 15.2.5. A realm must have a regularly scheduled practice at least once per month.
  • 15.2.6. A realm must have a written constitution and/or bylaws. These will be submitted to the War Council for review prior to being granted voting status.

As has been stated, you will do best to create a unit within the realm of Aquilonia. Not only will you be able to fight with a greater number of highly skilled fighters, but you will also have autonomy and be able to hold your own separate unit practice while still having access to the knowledge, skills, and other aid within the realm. Aquilonia is already established and will more than likely be able to siphon off any new joins who you obtain because of their infrastructure. They're quality folks who are welcoming you into the fold; accept it and their friendship for what it is.

I'm gonna necro this topic lmao
but uhhhh
I wanna start a realm here in Layton soon so I wanted to know if any already existed. I couldn't find one on the locator but through word of mouth heard about one that meets at the duck park by the library. I don't want to trample anyone's toes by starting another realm that would meet in the same place if there is already one in existence.
I'm actually not even sure this will work but I wanted to reach out here and see if anyone had any information. <333

No one has ever contacted me about a realm in Layton. Maybe it's a satellite practice for the Clinton group?
