Hey, I'm sure something similiar has been asked before but I coulnd't find it. I want to do something aside from sword and board and I was thinking dual axes. Are those effective/practical? :axes:

Unfortunately, due to building constraints, axes end up being less useful than clubs or swords of the same length. HOWEVER, if it's something you want to do, you should go for it. This is a game, after all, and you should have fun.

I would try to borrow some and test it out if I were you. No, you will not really ever see vets using that style effectively. But it can still be fun. If you do, I would recommend doing as much shield hooking as you can.

The only sucessful application of such a fighting style I've seen in my limited experience is darting around the field backslashing.

I use dual axes sometimes. The only reason I don't use them more often is because of how fast axes tend to break. Which leaves me without axes most of the time. Like any other style it does have it's weaknesses and advantages though. And personally, its more fun for me. Go ahead and try it if you want. And try any other style you can. Don't shun away from weapons at first because you think they're dumb, just try them out. I hated spears for a long time until a friend of mine built one and I used it a few rounds. It turned out pretty good.

Ok, I'll try them out. It would be pretty badass to get decent with them and they seem like fun. Thanks!

Axes are one of those weapons that CAN be kick *, but you have to be prepared for a steep learning curve. I have fought some pretty good axe fighters, and seen a lot more crappy ones. The problem is that there are so few people who fight with axes consistently that there really aren't too many people to learn from.
