any suggestions for running an event?

I am not sure how experienced you are in the game, so my advice would be to attend a few events before you attempt to throw one.

been doing it for about 7 years ran local events the last to years but im looking for new ideas also planing on attending snow ball this year

Hey, Wolfgar, good to see you on the boards, and I'm very happy to hear that you're attending SnowBall this year. It's exactly the type of event you're looking into running, so it will give you a good frame of reference.

I'd recommend hitting up a few more events this year, in addition. I know you're a bit isolated, so it takes time and money investment beyond what is 'normal' for a beginning Bel leader (fighting in the Dakota's... tell me about it...). If you can manage the time off, you should hit up the Niflheim caravan to Chaos next summer, or else come along to one of the Keggland events (they'll probably hit up Spring Wars and Geddon). That will give you a good sense of what big event culture is like (and give you an opportunity to meet vets and realm leaders in person; the most valuable things I've learned at events were strategies on how to run a realm).
