UIC or chicagoland area

Postby Talion » Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:51 pm

Is the UIC realm still active? When and where does it meet if it still is? Or, alternatively, what active realms are in the chicagoland area (preferably close to a cta stop as I have no car currently)

Thank you!

Hello!

Welcome to the funnest game on the planet.

I'm not sure on specifics but I know Chicagoland is a mecca of belegarth activity.

Check out http://wiki.belegarth.com/Category:Realms#Illinois .

And that wiki can also help answer lots of questions!

If you have any you can't find answers to, feel free to PM me.

Thank for the response No'Vak; however, the wiki/geddon.org are both quite uninformative on this matter. While I know the Slums of Shaolin are supposedly an active realm, the wiki has almost zero information about them. Meanwhile, the UIC websites mostly have not been updated since 2009 while their facebook page just has posts of people asking the same thing as myself with no response.

As I said, I no longer have a vehicle, so I'm looking for realms that run close to a cta stop. I know the UIC group used to, so if anyone knows the exact day they practice... otherwise I'll just hope to run into them if they're still active.

Hmm...I'm trying to think of people who live in Chicago. Tails perhaps? Try him.

I luckily ran into the group today. For anyone interested, they currently run 5-8ish (guessing they end earlier) on Thursdays in Harrison Park at the corner of Halsted and Harrison.

Thank you to everyone who responded! Unfortunately, I have 6-9 class on Thursdays, so outside of maybe 30-45 mins of sparring, if anyone knows of perhaps a weekend practice in the Chicagoland area, I am still interested!

Heya Talion. * it's good to have you back in the game, dude. The other Chicago realm was the Kingdom of Valdara. Pm Argyll for updated details. Good luck, and glad you're still around.

If you can't find anyone in the city, you can ride the South Shore to the East Chicago stop and I will pick you up and take you to our practice in Hobart, IN. It would be like a 45 minute train ride and around twenty minutes in the car putting up with me and my Bauhaus tape.
