Tentative new participant

Postby Ampsonic » Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:14 pm

All of this looks really cool, and I've found a few places to purchase the weapons then plan to make my own costume, but before I do so, I want to see if there are any gatherings or groups located within at least 40 minutes of Naperville IL, 60565. I've tried looking through the events section and found nothing really. Any help would be appreciated.

-Little suggestion. Make a subforum of events split up by state, then require all post names to require a zip code, inside further location details and description of the gathering or event.-

-edit- I've found the other site with the listings of all the places and have found two in my area, thought the new forum section may not be a bad idea.-

Anyone know if Loderia still gets together at

"Sunday: 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm (or dark)
Thursday 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm (or dark)
408 Game Farm Road Yorkville, IL 60560"

And if Muxlovia is at

"Practice is held at the Bible Baptist Church, 301 Normantown Road, Romeoville, Il., 60446
Saturday 5:00pm - 8:00pm"

Thanks guys. any information is valuable, I'm pretty poor and If I do this I want to be geared well.

Muxlovia is still practicing regularly. We have a gym, so inclement weather wont be a problem. Loderia however is on hiatus do to winter.

Also, when it gets warm, Dunharrow in Elgin and Thorum in Batavia will have practices.

If you need anything else feel free to pm me or Sir Peregrine. There will be practice this Saturday at Muxlovia (even though WPO is this weekend).

Forged Foam is a good company, I recommend there hard core line swords, they coast more but will last much longer. I can show the difference at practice, and let you try out some different length swords. also I can lend you equipment until you are sure what want to get.

Had an amazing time, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I am going to be dedicating as much time to this as possible from here on out. Just wanted to thank everyone I met last night for being so welcoming.

I should point out, "started fighting" doesn't mean "date of birth." It means when you first went to a practice, pretty much.
May you find a twist in your road.
