duel welding

Whats your ideas on dual wielding a axe and a sword. I was planing on using the axe for catching strikes and pulling the shield out of the way/dealing blows and the sword for parrys/ striking. Message me your ideas/techniques

Some Norse axe techniques with axe & shield, as well as red axe, could apply to red sword, too. My realm-mate here is interested in Florentine, and would love to know the viability in an actual battle with a blue axe in the off-hand and a long blue in the main hand. I personally think it would be interesting...

The most successful florentine that you'll see is with two swords of identical or near identical length/weight. That is because the people fighting with them have taken the time to train the stupid out of each hand and they fight specifically to beat different styles.

As for hand axes, if you really want to use one, go for it. Your idea of "catching" weapons isn't going to work the way that you're planning. Best thing to do would be try it, see that it's silly, and maybe move along to something else.

After reading the topic "duel welding" I was hoping to find a thread about one on one blowtorch combat being used to settle an issue of slighted honor.
