Is Pelagir active?

I recently moved, and found that Pelagir is the closest-LARP thing. Does anyone know if Pelagir is active, and when they meet?

The Wiki page has some information, but could be hopelessly out of date.

Thanks!

Yes, it's a good idea to populate your profile so people will know where you're from. (checking my profle...) :ninja:

I was involved in Pelargir a while back, but I don't think it's active now.

I'd like to start a group in San José

I just moved here from Colorado where, several years ago, I was active in Amtgard. I've been interested for a bit in a heavier boffer, and given that Pelagir was only a short bus trip away I thought I might check it out.

However, I'm interested in participating only casually, and probably wouldn't want to travel very far. For instance, it looks like there's an Amtgard group in Oakland, but I've found that I haven't gotten over there yet and, while it might be nice to know there's a group in San Jose, I probably won't be making it down there anytime soon.

If you're wanting to start a group, I'm probably the least useful sort of person to have around. I'll send you a PM though.

Perhaps this conversation will attrac more Bay-Area people. ;)

One of the things I want to try is holding a LARP at the Marin Headlands north of the Golden Gate. There are several old fortress-like bunkers, which imagination might give to some ancient civilization.

If you guys want to fight some bel or dag there are a few groups to choose from up north.
Mallenorod in Sunnyvale
Raen Dun'Aear in Sonoma County
Saracor in San Ramon
Salamandastron in Santa Cruz
And West Hammer in Modesto.

Check out these realms if you want to fight, but I'm not to sure if the can help with the LARP though.

San Francisco is a wonderful location for a realm. I know there have to still be fighters in the.

I just accepted a position in downtown San Francisco and would love to help regrow a realm. As I will most likely be living in SOMA or North Beach area

Let's keep the conversation moving forward.

Feel free to PM me or better yet drop me a line at "cody_wright87" at yahoo dot com

I'm pretty sure Pelagir isn't active any longer.

Like Kael said, there are several active groups in the Bay Area, though they will all be a small commute for you. Depending on where you are in the city, you're not too far from most of the bay area groups. Let me link you to some local groups:

Raen Dun'Aear (This is where I fight, in Santa Rosa - about 1hr20min away)
Dagorhir Mallenorod (Sunnyvale - about 50min away)
Saracor (San Ramon - about 45min away)
Salamandastron (Santa Cruz - about 1hr40min away)
WestHammer Dagorhir (Modesto - about 1hr40min away)

Of the two closest realms, I'd recommend Mallenorod. They are really active, friendly, and welcoming. The people running the show there are Kyrax, Rau, Tati, and F'*.

Also, as Roanoa and Orkin have been saying, San Fran is a great place for a realm. You should get in contact with Juggernaut and Kyrax. They are both old school fighters that live in the bay area and know all the local fighters. If you are trying to get a San Fran group started, they are the people to talk to. (I'd be willing to help you out as well, if I can).

P.S. - Kael, thanks for passing on the good word about the Bay Area scene!

Hey, I've got a house with a great back yard, and I wouldn't mind hosting a meet 'n' greet!
