Can someone please tell me why I'm not allowed to have bright colors as weapon covers? ex. (bright pink, lime green, fluorescent orange)

1. Belegarth "medieval" combat society
2. Can you name a pre-gunpowder weapon that was florescent colored?

With that said, the actual rule is:
1.3.6. All striking surfaces must have a cloth covering.

1. Irrelevant.
2. Can you name a pre-gun powder weapon that was forest green or maroon? Cause there are plenty of those left and right on the field.

You can't wear brightly colored t-shirts and striking surfaces have to have a cloth cover. Those are the only semi-related rules.

That said, on a national level you're legit with it. Some people just tend to make a stink about sword covers. It happens. Make sure it's your locations rule that's followed across the board and not just singling you out. If you come from a place that disallows them, then those are the rules you have to respect. If you have any more questions, feel free to post them in the Rules Questions forum.

And just to go on record, I think florescent covers are ugly as *.

Its not in the rules but it should be it just makes you look like a clown and honestly would you go to war in Brightly colored armor with a matching set of weapons I sure wouldn't I'd want to blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb

It has never been a rule when i started to fight, but when i started to wipe the field of combatants then they decided to make it a rule. They said and I quote: "It's to distracting." Not to be mean or anything, but I think it's completeing bogus. If thats the case shouldn't they make a rule that you can't throw your shield/weapon up in the air. because the reason players do this is to DISTRACT the enemy and get their attantion on the obstacle thats being flung in the air right? I don't think just because I beat you with a hot pink covered sword it should be a rule. No disrespect to anyone.

No modern prints.

Anything other than that is opinion or house rules.

Ok, Rainjer, was this said to you at a national event or locally? Because if it's local, just play along with the house rules. This doesn't seem to be a fundamental alteration of the national rules, just a big of added enforcement on the "realism" clause of our rules. If it's deeply offensive to your sensibilities to actually do that, well...not sure what to say.

You can't use yellow covers spears for the sheer reason of not confusing them with javs.
