Any realms in/near Spokane?

Postby Steele » Mon Jun 25, 2012 9:43 pm

Are there any realms near Spokane, Washington? I read up on StormHaven but am not sure if they are still around.

Well (as you probably know), Storm Haven is Amtgard. But they should be active; Eastern WA is an independent dutchy within Blackspire, and I believe they had a major event recently. Have you tried Facebook to contact them?

Edit: how long are you planning on being in Spokane?

Hawaii: Manoa
Washington: Gondor

There are no staffs in Belegarth. Because of how they are constructed, they are really Pugil Sticks.

So some Stygians were hoping to come out there on occasion to try and get a realm going. we've been limited by being broke *. But I guarantee that if you work on starting up a group, we'll help you where we can (I'd like a second realm within 500 miles of my house, that would be nice)

I'm actually looking so that a friend of mine can get started where she lives. 3 hours is too far for her, and she can't start a realm but wants to fight.

Im going to be moving to Spokane in a few months and there are people over there who are interested in playing. Only problem is we are inexperianced in the game and have only played Amtgard. Ive played Bel a bit and hope to educate them, but we also want to visit Stygia to get a better feel for the game.
Honestly we've been foam fighting for years, we just need a better calibration for sufficient force and level of contact. Whats your friends contact info so we can invite them to a practice when we get up and running?

You'll do fine, Bryn;
honestly you'll find that if the shot was clean and good people will take it no matter if it was light.
The maxim for newbs has always been "Hit Hard, Take Light". I suggest this until you're used to it again.
Just remember to throw with your whole body, none that lopdick floppy wrist action I see on the field at amt-events.
