I am not very tech savvy, and I can almost never actually see the pictures people post in this and sometimes other forums. How can I fix that? Thanks.

If the images were posted some time ago. The image host may have gone down/deleted them/migrated them. Or the person could have messed up the code. If you see a broken image box, you may be able to right click>view image/open image in new tab. Past that I'm not sure what you can do if the problem is on your end.
