what is the difference between a house and a unit?

Like it said above, as well as what are the "rules and requirements" for both. I cannot find it on any of the forums.

Typically a unit is a group of people from across the country that are friends and fight together on the field.

A house however typically is a group that shares off the field things, such as common role play elements or what not.

There are also fighting houses such as House Dregoth, and RP Units Such as Horde.

There is of course no set rules for anything as the group themselves control how they manage membership and what not. There is typically an unspoken rule that you only belong to one unit, but can be in many different houses, but that again depends upon the unit and the houses if they will allow you

For House Valkyries, the reason we call ourselves a house and not a unit is because we do not require or expect loyalty to only Valkyries on or off the field. When unit battles are called we have the option of fighting as a unit, however our group is intentionally cross region, unit, realm, and interests and we actively encourage our members to join other units.

Another example of a house is the soon-to-form Gladiator House. The God Squad Colosseum at Chaos is so popular now that the guys and gals who love doing it are forming their own group to exchange notes, plan outfits, and practice sweet dramatic grappling among other things.

Out west there are many people in multiple units, so the rule of only one is not required, however unit loyalty is always a tricky issue. With a house, it is not expected. So I guess houses are more a resource than a specific group.

Hopefully that helps.
