Quick Rule Clarfication for armor and polearms

Postby Fatcat13 » Wed Dec 26, 2012 3:09 am

Hi all, after reviewing the rules a few times and double checking old posts I had a couple of questions. I would post on the "rules" bit but sadly it appears I cannot post new topics there. Anywho... without further ado, on to the questions.

Firstly, I have seen and heard mention of armor classifications between "light" and "heavy". is it like Dag where the heavier the armor the more points it's worth or is it just one/ two hit protection?

Secondly, since javelins must adhere to thrusting weapons rules, does that mean they can also be used as thrusting weapons when not thrown?

Lastly, do bladed weapons (such as halberds, swords, etc) have the ability to thrust if they adhere to the thrust rules?

any insight or assistance would be gratefully appreciated

All (legal) armor is worth one point. Light, medium, and heavy (leather, chain, and plate) comes into play with grappling. Armored individuals can't initiate a grapple with an unarmored opponent, and can only start a grapple with an opponent wearing comparable or heavier armor.

Yes, javelins are a legal melee weapon. (They are thrust only though.)

And yes, swung weapons can also be stab legal, if they are built appropriately. (So you can have blue-green and red-green weapons.)

Hope that helps.

There are no staffs in Belegarth. Because of how they are constructed, they are really Pugil Sticks.
