Hello All

Postby The Anthropologist » Sat Feb 09, 2013 6:14 pm

Hello everyone,

I'd like to first start off by introducing myself, my name is Steve, I currently live in Crystal Lake, IL and I am attending Elgin Community College: I am striving towards a major and eventually a career in cultural anthropology. For my project this semester, I am to follow a specific cultural group and conduct field work to help gain a better understanding. Instead of going into a huge long post about all the details, I was wondering if there were any contacts I could make in the Elgin or Crystal Lake (And anywhere in between), so I can perhaps eventually get involved in your community. I noticed there are two groups in the immediate area, Dunharrow and Wildwood, and both would be great ventures to look at.

I am by no means a troll (cave or otherwise), and I hope to hear from someone soon, as I have to submit my proposal for this project to my professor by Sunday night.

Both of the realms in your area are, as Tails said, out for the winter. The Elgin group is Dunharrow, and the Crystal Lake group is Obsidian Hollow. Here are the links to those realms, respectively.

The realm of Muxlovia in Romeoville is still going for the winter, and I believe there is a group that meets in Dekalb over the winter as well. For the Mux practice, contact "Peanut of Loderia."

Thanks the two of you, Romeoville is a bit of a travel for at least majority of the fieldwork I wish to conduct, however I'm about 40 minutes away from Dekalb (have family out that way), and that might be a good venue to pursue during the Winter months if they hold an "in-door" meet.

How long has your group, Belegrath been about? Are there moments when most of these groups come together or are they few and far between?

I've checked into those facebook pages and submitted a group acceptance request. Is Big Jimmy a forum frequenter, or is there a way of getting a hold of him or anyone in this realm that might be helpful via E-mail or through these forum boards?

Pretty sure his username here is Big King Jimmy.

It is around a decade-ish now.
Are you talking about events in belegarth or cross game events?

If you are willing to travel a few hours, there are enough Bel events from spring-fall in the midwest to suck your bank account dry. The next camping event is Spring Wars; last weekend in april at forest glen (shameless plug).
