Hey all, I'm new up here, and I cant seen to find any good info on realms near me. I hear elgin is no longer active, and there might be so in various places... but no way to confirm anything. Any solid info would be wonderful.

Where are you exactly? I can point you in the right direction.

I run a practice out in Batavia Illinois, realm of Thorum. about 40 min west of the city. if you live in the city a train runs from Oglebee station to Geneva, one town north of us.

we should be starting practices again in a month or so, once the weather gets better.

im also pretty sure their is a practice over at the uic campus as well.

I am a recurrent fighter with the same problem. I live in Arlington Heights and there was a unit out of Deer Park for a little bit and they disbanded and so has my practicing. I am looking to get back into the sport and I would like some people to fight with. Who is in or around that area to fight with?

You're looking at a bit of a drive from Arlington Heights. Start a realm? Start a realm! Recruit friends.

arlington height is IN chicago, hop on the blue line to clark and transfer to the brown, take that to kimball. Or you can drive to our practice

Thorum in Batavia has started practices!

Fridays in Engstrom park from 4 to dark. We welcome anyone who is interested. We have loaner gear and garb.

And parking.

And water.

And sometimes, cookies...

Yeah, Arlington and Harwood are a bit of a stretch between them. I saw where you guys practiced. It would take me about 45 minutes without Chicago traffic. I used to fight with Dunharow in De Kalb and that was a hike four only a hour of fighting and training, was looking local.

Separate topic, who is going to be going to Spring Wars, I would like to participate and was wondering if I could sign on as a Merc with someone?

Yup, tag along and fight with, kind of hard to fight a Realm by yourself, hahahaha!!!!

Our events really aren't structured where you'd need to roleplay a mercenary. Show up, meet people, have fun. Units/Realms help to have someone to share a campsite with though.

I don't even think it's the roleplay aspect, he's just looking for a group to hang out and fight with on the field.

So I know I'm late to the party but I live in Addison. I know there was a realm on itasca. Does anyone know if its still active abd when they meet?

The Itasca realm is no longer active, but Obsidian Hollow in Lake in the Hills is active, and that's where many of their members now go, or so I'm told. You can check them out on their Facebook, or try e-mailing their realm leader at: Lekiyminin@gmail.com.

If that's a bit farther than you want to go, check out my ongoing Realm Information List. It's mostly complete, so it should have some useful info on realms in the Chicago area. Bare in mind that it is only mostly complete. If you can't find the info you're looking for, try getting ahold of Tails; he seems to be in the know about Chicago area Belegarth. I don't know how often he checks the boards, but you can also contact his realm at their Facebook page.
