I know that character race doesn't really mean much outside of the RP portion so I dind't post this in the rules board. ^^

But yeah question, what races are allowed?

What races are accepted by other players as in What races wont get me mocked constantlly?

you can be any race you like, any species. you can yourself a dwarf even if you are 6.5' tall. Imo what ever you call yourself, do your best to garb as said.
given there are favs: human, elf, bugbear, orc, goblin (quick apology if I miss any)...viking, etc. really whatever, why not change the sex of your character and dress appropiately. make it believeable, have fun.

the undead half-elf ninjas are very popular

Mostly because the main people that started Vampire Personas we're larp'ers who just needed some * kicking humiliation in general. My persona is a demonic vampire and I never get crap but that goes back to the having good garb thing and not acting like a total idiot.

Yeah Cus I was thinking of going Vampire. or Mongrel (I guess thats what a half-vampire is to the rest of the population) My old game called them Mongrels and thats what I played, and Garb is no problem, I'm no stranger to making/Buying cloths.

if you can make medieval vampire clothing, go for it, but im telling you, its gonna be hard. i dont know what game you were playing before, but i just want to warn you that it would have to be period clothing, no lame suit and cape with glow in the dark vampire fangs. im really not sure what i would make a vampire look like, it would be hard, because the whole vampire thing started later in most stories.

for vampires, or any beasts in general. Fangs are incredibly awesome looking. Check out teeth by Dnash: www.dnash.com

yeah they're a bit pricy (the reason why I don't have any) but they still look cool.

Woah! Amazeing quality and super high prices. Lol I don't know about those fangs they are a little out of my budget for this. xD Am Vampires can be clothed how ever one sees fit really. (But Trust me I wont have on a cape or a suit of any kind...nor would I have dollarstore fangs) I think It would depend on the area the vampire came from and the style of the player. ^^

You guys realize thats basically what a bugbear is right?

Part man, part pig, part bear.

Of course they will tell you they are big bear like goblins, but we all know that goblins are in actuallity green piglike man things.

Actually come to think of it, orcs are the pig-man guys not goblins. Manbearpigs would be more like really large orcs with furryness(biger than Uruks even).

Undead "No bringing this one back from what I hear"

Vampires "I'm sure with the right persona and activity you could bring it back... Just don't act like a Anne Rice Vampy. I'm really sketchy on the details of how Vampires were ruined... but I would imagine they all went and bought that 5$ generic dracula suit at walmart with the red cape and that plastic jewel that everyone's seen at least once. Then they ran around the field chanting about blood sucking... Not to mention 90% of Belegarth fights take place in the day... saying you're a daywalker would be retarded... even though I hear there is someone in this sport who does/did that."

Orcs are borderline "Was trying to bring that one back myself... but what I had going for me went to hell when two of my most active members moved out of town, and my real life got very busy."

Most important of all just don't mix twenty things... I'm not mentioning any names or specific details. But if you're gonna be an elf be an elf, if you're gonna be a ninja be a ninja, if you wanna be a stalky elf be a ranger... I'm not mentioning the other thing that was thrown in there. I like the guy but that was just TOO much. Most people really could have cared less, but those who did care took it to an extreme in tormenting this poor dude. I admit I'm slightly guilty myself, but I've had a change of heart.

Good luck dude

Or you could make your own race, be completely original, we're working on random things right now as far as races go.

Because nothing describes two of my fighters, we're trying to come up with a good monster for them. Boulder troll is the process of being made, but hell we're just f***ing around, it's all for the fun of the game. :D

Don't act like an idiot, don't look stupid, and most of all have fun. If you want to be a vampire, go for it, looked down upon, but not restricted.

I am 1/4 elf. I need to find the backup of my story somewhere or paraphrase it some day. But there are no true rules, just know that if you are not a respected fighter you will get mocked. If you are the best fighter you can say you are the goblin king turned dracolich! Nobody will disagree if you can fight well.

Anyway, back on topic, it also helps if you take the time to develop your character and behaviors. IMO, that's one of the reasons Horde has been doing so well lately; they've taken the time to act like what they are. Develop how your person would walk, talk, strategize, etc. and go for it. Helps you and everyone else have fun. We could all do with fewer newbs walking in and trying to be insane without any idea of what it is they are doing or how they are doing it.

Just call yourself a human until you get good enough to boast about being something different. Also, while being said human, try to not be an annoying little kid, as tough as that may sound.

If you want to play a werewolf, go play whitewolf or something with a few friends.

Whitewolf is fun.

General rule, don't over do your "MEGA abilities"

I have played with questing events in Ered Duath for over 10 years now. Most of them I accquired small tokens to give extra powers during the event.

These do not transfer to the game we play at national events or even local practices. It just gives some extra flavor to RP based events.

The DM group has been busy and I admit I have not given my fair share of ideas to more RP quest events this past year.

Though I do suggest that you do not scream loud when you are dealing with opponents (metaphorically). If you start with your strongest card, your enemy will know and you have nothing to escalate to. It works well in business too :D LoL

Now I suggest that you read through the Whitewolf books (RP game). This will give you a good idea as to how they may be percieved in today or medieval times. Then you can play one out well on these boards.

Oh and if you don't have the RL skill to back what you suggest here (aka, I walk into a room and kill all of the orcs with only a light graze across my cheek to show my efforts were amazing!!!!) don't claim it. I could suggest that I walk in and with draconic and demonic power wipe out an entire village. Though I would likely have to plow over fighters like Cedric and Winfang (just pulling two know names at random). That is not believeable. Now if I were able to plow over a seasoned fighter with little problem, then others would not question it.

I hold my own and keep it in check so that we have fun with the story. Don't worry about being the strongest badass out there. Know that you have weaknesses in life. We all do. Even durning quest events if you know where my weakness is, you get right through it with little effort (or you need 4 guys on one pike :P Ah that was a good event and I couldn't use my arm for a week :D)

Even the respected fighters get mocked if they pick a weird race...

Jikanta got mocked by Legion a while back (I heard the story from Outlander) for being a dragon. Granted, I don't know if any individual member of Legion of the Manticore would mock her to her face, but the group did it...

Griff, I don't think there is one... shapeshifting is fairly time-consuming, and difficult to make look good.

Okay, not typing anymore... My grammar is shot today...

For those who don't know, I'm a human gong farmer. gong is also known as crap, *, ****, ect... So I don't need to have skill to be able to sling **** at people and I'm always waist deep in it. :D

Eww, now that is disgusting.

People also say I'm full of it. ;) But after 3 years(realistically 1.5) of fighting I don't need the reputation to pull it off.

honestly its not even an issue of skill the horde and hellhammer and others roleplay quite well and not everyone in these units is an amazing fighter but we also aren't going around saying " ok i need this much prostetic face mold and i need you to not fight me call my race wouldnt allow me to fight someone like you etc. etc." ropleplay all you want just dont let it interfere with your fighting. if you ever see a bugbear or a goblyn in character at an event ask them if they are the best fighter they know of. i dont care which monster you ask the automatic response you get is yes that they are the best at everything. if you can play it and make it ok do it just dont take yourself to seriously and dont expect others too. i mean hell the ebfs lord onyx is a drow! a 6'3-6'4 330 pound man saying hes an elf! but he pulls it off and has a good back story so just play it and role with it

How much you're mocked, and the quality of the mocking (friendly or otherwise), depends on how much people like you. It's pretty much that simple. If you're popular and well-liked, you can get away with the most outrageous persona; if you're reviled, you'll be abused for even the most minor abnormalities.

Such is the way of socialization.

My character persona is a japanese style character. A half human half Yuki-ona (Ice Spirit). So I don't have to go to far out of the way when preping myself. Been gone for a while so for my story, I need to explain that.

My character isn't a 'true' Japanese character, but he has been introduced into Oriental society at a young age (especially for an elf) by a series of events involving warfare. He somehow ends up assisting a ninja clan, then joins them and recieves further training. He then had to pass a few tests of skill and loyalty before becoming an official member of the clan. He was separated from the clan about 5 years later during a mission when he stumbles across a teleportation device disguised as a normal object.

The story after that point is going to be based heavily on what happened when I participated in Belegarth last year. (My successes, failures, whose side I took in each event I attended, ect.) I haven't came up with the full story yet, but I'll post it when it is written/typed.

I think I'ma change to a Ninja Turtle, who?s more of a Pirate on the inside. My backstory is going to involve a conflicting personality, probably a reunion with a parent when I find out I'm not a ooze-made mutant after all; that I'm the result of inter-species erotica. In my despair, I sail aboard me pirate ship to middle earth where Orcs attack my ship and I'm forced to careen on the nearest beach in Uruk-Hai territory.

I spend months in self-exile eating root leaf stew when the Orcs begin to chop my woods down. So I jump on an ent and lay a smack down on those *; however, the ents mistake me for an Orc cause I'm like green and **** so they kick me out of the woods.

Wandering, I come across a large battle which involves all realms. I get drunk, then try to fight Vokor and end up getting my ninja turtle * thrown across the field landing in front of the rest of the EBF. Since they're a bunch of noobs, I use my ninja turtle skills along with the utility belt I stole from batman and kick their asses later becoming the king of Belegarth. The Belegrim conquered cause I'm hot like that; I make my way into the lands of Nagdorhir, where I receive a cease and decist from the kingdom's legal office for mentioning the name of the great and powerful kingdom while telling my story. To be continued provided I get Sir Johnnie Cochran as a lawyer...

Stay tuned for part two: TeeDge the Ninja Turtle, and the secret of the booze.

Y'know now that you think of it, shouldn't they be Middle-aged Mutant Ninja Turtles by now?
