Most interesting tactic you saw at Octoberfest

Care to share?

I think mine was probably seeing the archers act like modern infantry when working the corners in the city. Even those who had never been trained in MOUT (military operations in urban terrain) still realized how to work the corners and get themselves in good positions for shots.

The most interesting tactic I observed at 'Fest was Hellhammer's tactic they used during unit battles. They broke up into 5-man "squads" and ran around the field like that, when a force tried to take out one squad, there was always at least one squad flanking them.

Hrm,

There was one man, I don't recall his name. Leather armor and such. He would run around the lines, get to the opposite side, then break through back to his lines while killing on his way back home.

This was the Chaos Minefield, a spinoff of our Chaos grenade where we all lined up together and at some point in the middle of a fight just scattered. Following the 8-ball did us very well. But I must give props to unit Not The Iron Crown for being a wrecking crew.

I heard (read, did not see) of a guy who would, when 2 lines met, just turn around and follow pace with the oppisite line.. then fall behind a little bit and just start taking backs like crazy.

Can't remember who I heard that one from though.

Yeah, that sounds like a very cheap way to rack up some kills. Of course, someone could notice and kill him, but it's still pretty * cheap.

I don't see how it's cheap. Ignorant enemies deserve to die.

It's only good for maybe one or two times, before people catch on and kill you first. If someone is foolish enough to fall for it more than that, they deserve what they get.

I did it for about three years, fighting as the Mad Jester. It was one of my favorite tactics. I never felt bad because I was wearing distinctive, bright colors, I was easy to spot.

I don't do it much anymore, but if I could fade a line, I would.

Yeah, if someone didn't notice Torquil switching sides, they didn't deserve to "live"... :)
