Sir Zaknafien (sorry if i can't spell) knight of Numenor would be a great example, it's been a while since I've seen him dressed up in his finery with full face makeup and all though. Other than that I caution you to be careful, the last thing you want is to be the laughing stock of your new realm. My suggestion, especially if you are just starting, is to go to a few events before you try to bring a large amount of characterization along with you. That way at least people know you before they start seeing some random guy out there with ears and paint on them.
Good luck with all that you try!

Please be accepting of the fact that I do not care that you were the lost half brother of Dr'zzt from an alternate dimension where males run Drow society. Please accept the fact I am unimpressed with such things and again, have heard such things a million times. If you're going to be a drow, break the mold and be an evil one. Every time one of your good drow compatriots accosts me on the way to the *, I want to give him a swirlie in the only crapper on the site that still flushes, which is usually the one that no one does.
