Thats the problem with calling it a "two weapon" tourney. I was more annoyed with the guy in it using a redsword and a blue sword sheathed in his belt.
Arrakis wrote:He was?!? WHY? Because they called it the "Bluie (sic) and Shield Tourney" as the program called it? Did they disbar stabbing in the Red tourney???
****'... I'm glad I didn't enter any of the tourneys, cause you can bet your * I would have been using my stab-tips to maximum competitive advantage.
Arrakis wrote:Sol, I'd call light in a tourney: if a club flexed over the outside edge of my shield and touched me without "hitting" me. That way I feel good about acknowledging the contact but I don't have to take an arm from a touch.
Of course, what was going on in War Gods wasn't even close to proper Light calling or proper shot taking, or proper anything, for that matter.
The dude with the longspear, two flails on lanyards, and the back shield was ridiculous. He would swing twice with his flails and holler "blueblueblueblueblueblueblue!!" like he'd swung 8 times. It would have been funny, but the first guy he fought actually LOST.

The war god final match, I wasn't booing because of rhinohiding, I booed because someone was calling "Light". In a big battle I don't really care, but calling light in a tournament is recognition of the hit, but saying you're not taking it. Can someone pass that to Spyn for me?
Solusar wrote:What happened to the idea of "Hit hard take light"? Also, I don't quite get what you're saying Jimmy. Care to expand?
Regardless, Arrakis is right. Warthog (spear, two flails and backshield) won the cheese award that day. Although he made it to the third round (poor Ixous) it was still uber-cheese.
