Czech Battle and weapon idea

Postby 'Nuck Badger » Sat Nov 20, 2010 6:05 pm

Don't hate, just saw this on you tube and wanted to post. I know its not Belegarth but I see their weapons are padded. I notice quite a few people in that video wielding pole-arm like flails. If only the one end was a striking surface, would these be possible? They'd be kinda slow but look to be a better support weapon for getting over shields without endangering yourself.

For future advice, post the link of the video you're talking about.

Secondly, pole flails are outlawed by the fact that the maximum length of flails is 40". Otherwise, they'd be cheesy as all hell and nobody would use anything else.

I suppose that the 40" overall is including the head of it then.

Yep. Longer flails are only allowed through houserules if you're sticking to the Book of War.

You can see 'em being swung around at about 2:40.

looks kinda dumb too. like someone took a tube sock and filled it with high density foam then tied it to the end of a stick.

i could also see those being a potential safety hazard as it would appear that you have to swing a mostly unpadded or only haft padded pole down at someone. looks like a good way to nail someone in the head with only a lightly padded core.

Most of them are wearing armor, so I noticed they pad their weapons way less too.
