What you want is DAP contact cement. It is simply the best thing there is for weapon construction. Especially if you're just starting, don't try to get fancy or reinvent the wheel. Get DAP and read the instructions on the can.

Easy to follow instructions for just about every kind of weapon can be found here. You will note that these instructions include links which describe everything you need in exquisite detail.

Silicone will add a ton of weight and rigidity, plus when it dries it turns rubber like and doesn't hold to foam well.....in my experience, and it really doesn't work for binding a duel core.

If you make a blue foam sword with 3 layers of pad between core and striking surface, that should be plenty of padding. As far as stab tips go, gold's gym yoga mat, about 3/4 inch to 1 inch on the tip is great.

I know what you're saying, but we don't have rules against building materials. A brick on a stick doesn't fail because it's a brick, it fails because it causes pain.

There is nothing in the BoW that says that you cannot use certain materials for striking surface. It only mentions padding. Thus Silicone would be "legal" though it would fail, and this is why...*Insert what jimmy said*... Silicone is pretty dense, and would hit and slap like no other. This would cause any material used in conjunction to fail faster as well. Silocone is one of the materials that breast implants are made from...Boobs can be heavy...

There is also the issue that there would be no good way to adhere a silicone material to another material.

The question is: Why does he need it?
Walmart mat and golds gym mat are currently the best methods for making weapons. If its not broken; dont fix it.
