Newbie with an odd Q

Postby Eggofnogg » Fri Dec 30, 2011 7:51 pm

So me and a couple of friends started making swords and sheilds to have small battles. But I wanted more! So I went and found a Belegarth group near us and i was woundering if my sheild would be alowed....i made it out of a satallite dish. I have read the rules. It is padded all the way around with two layers of pipe insulation and has at least 3 layers of blue camping foam in the middle. I went on to read the wepons section and found that theres a place that says Wepons may not have a metal core. So i was wondering if this applied to sheilds?

Thanks!

Shields aren't included in the metal core ban. It's possible that it could pass, though from your description, I would recommend you pull off the pipe insulation on the edges and build it back up with 4 layers of blue foam. It doesn't sound safe on the edges as is. The front sounds fine.

Have fun when someone shield-bashes or kicks it into your face and you break your nose.

You see, because kicking a shield in someones face is only going to break their nose if the core is made of metal. I say this as a man of science and also know-how.

I once coerced license to use Slagar's image and likeness in any official or unofficial forum of discussion, as he was only using it to show off his pecs and haircuts. His account has actually been a sock-puppet of mine since late 2008.

I decided I could do worse than let people think Spike was me. Now everyone thinks I'm the funniest goblin in Charleston. It works out well enough, but people keep asking me to do the fresh prince rap and getting * when I can't.

Have you met Spike? I assume you haven't, because you wouldn't be asking any of these questions if you had talked to the guy in person for more than two minutes.
