Trouble making a Spangenhelm

Postby timff8 » Sat Apr 25, 2015 12:05 am

I've been inspired by the work of some talented people on here to try and make a spangenhelm, but it's not going well.

I worked off of this design here, with a little modification to make it more symmetrical:

Unfortunately when I stitched the sides together I'm getting a rather boxy shape, which is bugging the crap out of me. How does one waterform and pad helmet pieces effectively so this doesn't happen? (I'd upload a photo but I'm not sure how to attach a photo not uploaded to a site somewhere).

Hey sorry to anyone that looked at this thread I have since built a contraption to waterform it around a bowl I apologize for what was an easy fix.
