I'm currently making a round, roughly 50" sword on a .524 kitespar core. It doesn't meet the weight requirements for a red sword and i don't plan to weight it up to the minimum as i don't wanna be breaking shields with it anyway.
My only question is as to how it would be checked, the weapon will be used one handed for 90% of the time as it is technically a blue weapon. I am sure it will pass hit just fine if checked like a blue but im not 100% sure it would pass the "red" style hit test. Since it is blue would it be tested as a one handed weapon or would it be tested red since it has the possibility of being wielded with two hands?

so if it's longer than 48" it can't be blue, but if it's less than 24 oz it cant be a red, so what is it?

If it is longer than 48 inches, it will be tested as a red weapon.

What Cyric said. In order to be a class one weapon, it must be shorter than 48 inches unless it's a double ended weapon.

The sees a determined by length not weight. So you are building a class 2 that fails on the weight requirement.
