so myself and a few others will be selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the USO, if you don't know what the USO is, to sum up they are a non-profit organization that provide services(e.g. Prepaid phone cards to call home) and comfort items(e.g. books etc.)and much more to our troops stationed around the world. We will be around the event selling tickets and the drawing will be at feast saturday night.

this is great, i am very happy and proud to support this cause. this has nothing to do with politics, it is about and only about helping the fine men and women in the us armed services around the world.

thanks for doing this very much, i will be advertiseing this in the arm survival guide.
how much are tickets, i assume that a 50/50 raffle means that 50% goes to the charity, and 50 % goes to the prizes.

That's awesome, though I don't necessarily support war, I do support the troops involved. A great organization to contribute to, good luck with your raffle.

The USO helps provide care packages, entertainment, etc. for our troops. I will gladly be the third generation of my family to help out with the USO (The first was my grandmother, who was a Canadian who chose to help. The second were my aunt and mother. And I've helped with the USO and done fundraising for them before). They are the United Service Organizations, with the tagline of Until Every One Comes Home. Yes, it was congressionally chartered, but it's also a private nonprofit. It is not a governmental agency, and relies on donations to operate. They provide internet and e-mail access, libraries, housing assistance, family crisis counseling, support groups, game rooms, and nursery facilities. It also heads Operation Care Package and Operation Phone Home, among other things.
