Best Dag Stuff.com is going out of business. The site sells Armor, *, Custom Work, Finished Weapons, Materials and Ready-to-Assemble Kits. I recently made a large order purchase. This is my first purchase and it has yet to arrive by mail but through email I corresponded with Bruce Lindsay aka Brutus. He is professional, helpful and friendly. All questions and concerns I have are addressed promptly. Items are reasonably priced. For those of you who have purchased anything from this site in the past and were satisfied with your order, give your testimonial. Everyone spread the word and promote more business to keep Best Dag Stuff going.
Bruce Lindsay plans to shut down the website Jan 16th 2010, unless business turns around. Go to:
http://www.bestdagstuff.com/
now, buy some good stuff and keep a good business open.

I deleted the other seven posts that were identical to this one.

While the cause might be a good one, the way you went about it was completely inappropriate. Posting the same message to eight different forums is very bad form. Don't spam like that.

Thanks Derian. I wouldn't want to have bad form.

Just an update - since Brutus put out a call for orders to keep BestDagStuff afloat, he's gotten quite a good response. I've ordered an assortment of weapons that I'm bringing down to the Battle of the Ring in Irvine, CA this weekend (January 9th), and others have pitched in too. But he's not quite out of the woods yet.

He's got sale prices on his weapon *: Storm of Swords (10 short sword with stabbing tip kits); Rain of Arrows (10 6-packs of modular arrowhead kits); and Armor breaking (mix of 10 Spearhead; Glaive and Two-handed sword kits). He's also got some good prices for square fiberglass cores, 1/2 inch EVA, etc.

Check out his website for details, shipping costs, etc. Obviously ordering in bulk will make things cheaper, so talk to friends, your unit and/or realm-mates to group up your purchases.

I used to worry about Bel/Dag getting all corporate. It's nice to see the whole community pull together to help this guy out.

Ewwwwww, Modular arrowheads. If there's a faster way to add weight and failure points to your arrows, I've yet to meet it.

Go to his site for materials, not kits. You can buy 1/2" square fiberglass on the mad cheap right now.

Brutus is a cool guy! Having used modular arrow kits extensively I can say that they don't quite measure up to the quality of permanently affixed heads but it does save having to rebuild an entire arrow because the shaft broke.

They should be Bel legal, but you'll probably have to explain their construct to a weapons checker who hasn't been to a Dag event with them. They sound unsafe but they really aren't if they're made properly.

Couldn't you just not use the little PVC tube and make it a fixed arrowhead? Watching the videos you still have to wrap the PVC with duct tape to size it to the penny blunt. I mean, yes, you are then paying for a teeny piece of PVC you'll likely never use *refrains from b-gun comment*, but at $3 (if you buy the 6-pack) they're competitive with Edhellen arrowhead kits, and at $2.10 for the Hail of Arrows they're amazingly reasonable unless you are an extremely efficient foam cutter/have an empty sharpened soup can. I'm planning on picking up at least a mess of foam and weapon covers (and likely the great sword and oar glaive kits), and am on the fence about getting an arrowhead pack and some spear tip kits.

Sorry 'Rrakis, on this you hit fail. I've been using modulars for a long while (after being taught how to make them well by an excellent archer). As Faline said, they work fine and the tradeoffs for ease of replacement makes them a good choice for the person who is going to be arching for a while. The modular arrowheads last a lot longer than shafts do.

If you don't like them, don't use them.

You didn't feel like scrolling down all the way? So you probably didn't notice it's been a month.
