New style of fighting pants!

PostPosted: Sat Jul 17, 2010 8:50 pm

I have designed a style of fighting pants that allows freedom of movement but gets rid of the problem of stepping on the legs like with hakuma.

They are a basic one size fits all..in the pics they are on my son who is 5'6" tall and has a 28"waist.

They also fit Rumbeard who is 6'4" tall with room for someone even taller. The max waist size is 43"

I am asking $40 a pair, I will have several at chaos, but can also ship for the cost of the pants and shipping to you

What do you know!?!?!?! I'm 5'8" and have a 28" waist! :)

I would love a pair, I'll pick it up at Chaos. We can meet up on Monday or something and trade pants and kiddie sword cores. Don't worry I'll have money too. :P

60% polyester 40% cotton, I sew the seams with 4 rows of stitching for reinforcement since we are extremely hard on our clothing.

I have a paypal account *preffered*
will accept check or money order, but ya gotta wait for the check to clear the bank...and of course cash. US funds only...I will ship to canada or overseas as well, just out of the states I cannot give any sort of guesstimate to delivery time.

If you buy more than 1 pair of pants shipping will be free.

If you have special requests like 2 different colors etc, pm me and we can see what I can do. I design my own clothing, been sewing since I was 8 years old...many many many many many many moons ago ;)

I realized I made an oversight with my pants. I know there are a few more robust fighters out there. No worries. If you need pants with a larger waist let me know via pm. The cost will be the SAME....it's a pet peeve of mine when I see the stores sell the larger sizes for more when it doesn't take them much more to make them....I refuse to do this to you.

The plus side of these pants is that even if you do loose weight, they will still fit you and look awesome!

These pants are called Rus pants. Here is a distributor who uses linen fabric. Most fighters prefer linen because it breathes better and is longer lasting than cotton.

actually Randy....if you would actually pay attention you would see that MY pants are different than theirs. Also if someone wants me to use linen then I will use linen, it will just cost them more.

Seeing as you are sparse on the forums perhaps you need a lesson in manners....which I would most happily do myself on the field for you. Etiquette is one of my specialties

So until then, have a nice day and please...do not post on things you know nothing of.

What lesson is that? your providing a product that is similar to the one I posted. Regardless of how baggy your pants are, the design is still rus. You are more than welcome to attempt at teaching me etiquette, ill be at the battle of the ring in January.

It never ceases to amaze me how saying one little thing on this board can get people up in arms, while at the same time kissing the right * is highly praised. Without having actually encountered the pants you're selling, I'd say they look superb for the purpose of fighting. I don't believe Randy meant it as a personal attack to you when he made his post. I personally suggest always complimenting someone's work before comparing it to something made to someone else, but maybe he was just excited at his find.

... oh wait. It's Evil Randy, not Randy. Never mind. He's plainly a heel!

actually...the etiquette is advertising a product on another person's thread of items they offer for sale....it's just a **** move.

There are many on here who sell Hakuma they make but yet you can buy Hakuma online at other places and in some places for the same price...difference is...the quality of sewing. I don't see you posting those.. :axed:

My pants are COMPLETELY different...obviously your ability at observation is lacking...the fact that I make my pants the way that I do DOES make them a new style of fighting pants...they are not essentially the same as Rus pants, my pants require more sewing, plus...as my add states I quadruple stitch my seams. Now if you would actually look at the pictures you might find the difference.

Thank you

this is where i have fun...

So your not saying the style of pants is all that different, merely that you are putting more work into them? Therefore, the quality of your pants is better. That doesn't mean its a different style. But now were discussing semantics.

I do apologize for any perceived grievance, I did not mean to suggest that they should not buy from you, more that your design style was not wholly new. Again your construction techniques are superior, but they are still rus pants.

BTW, you gonna be at Battle of the Ring to teach me that lesson in etiquette? And while were on that subject, doesn't etiquette dictate that when one perceives an offense, that person should approach the offender in a polite manner and give him/her a chance to amend the offense? Im just sayin.

edit, cause im bored waiting for SCA to start: Did you use a frenchseam or a flatfeld for the seams? Cause going over them 4 times wouldnt actually make them much more structurally sound. Course, you know that and its so obvious you didnt think to mention which one you used. I prefer french seam on my pants, that why im wondering...

LOL I LOVE that comic!!! sums up how I've felt the past 2 months!!!

I use french seams on something fancy I make, I've seen many french seams still rip out with fighting use...so instead I use the 4 rows of stitching because like with Jeans you usually have another row before a complete blow out so you have time to repair. I used Rumbeard as my test dummy and man is he hard on his fighting garb!!!! My friend's son actually ripped the fabric before the seam, where his other fighting pants ALL the seams are busted out, he even is infamous for busting out the seams of his jeans. Another factor on strength of seams is stitches per minute, I use the most my machine will allow.....so...when there's a mistake there's alot of >:( :goblin: :spear:

We are still working on wether or not we can make it to Battle of the Ring, I will definitely keep you posted...but we will DEFINITELY be here for Mannetherin (since we sponsor the event) and will be offering sleeping spots on couches and floors for those who travel long distances to come.

i will soon make the announcement for our event

also...you're talking to a pirate about semantics :D

Jeans are flatfelled, not quadruple simple-finished. If your pants are flatfelled with two reinforcing lines down the middle of each seam, then that's certainly something.
