I cringe at the thought of how hard that must hit. I just made another redsword and it stings like hell, I might hafta just throw him away.

I remember someone telling me, back when I was a novice foam smith, that you build the weapons hard. Let time soften them up for you.

Daggonoth.... I think that's the best LOOKING weapon you've ever come up with. No socks, all nonstriking surfaces covered in black. Vast improvment. I think I might cry.

All right! I do like the whole "aztec flint sword" thing. And this weapon does look significantly better than your other weapons.

I made all of these myself, excluding the blue on the far right. It's Edhellen.
The blue with the very long handle and maroon cover I just finished today. Fear the monster maille, too... A work in progress right now.

Question! If I were to bring these to Octoberfest, would "all of the red tape" be a problem? Meaning, the band of red under the striking surface of most of teh weapons pictured. The B.O.W. does state that weapon markings are on teh pommel or the handle, so I thought the colour red might make them a bit... Conflicted.

*Edit* earlier pictures seem to have answered my question! I'm changing it all to white tape...

The fact that you asked may be enough. I can't say that the javelins would have a problem (they're freaking javelins, after all), or the bow, but the shorter two swords may be questioned. If you have it, switch to blue painters tape or something like that. Looks good without the confusion or that guilty feeling!

Those arrows look pretty nice, though. How did you do the rounded head? Nerf balls, or just tightly packed open cell?

I don't really see why the red tape would matter, since the pommel is marked with blue tape. The pommel is where someone should look first to know what a weapon is classified as. If the pommel was unmarked, then I could see the problem with the red tape.

I changed most of it, to prevent any problems in the future. I probably could get away with it, but white is also one of our colours. No real problems here :)

Foam wrapped in alot of duct and athletic tape. It hits like a nuke, no more of this "I am not gonna take that red hit" BS now. I will break your arms!! (not really)

Hot Topic I'd say. 8) Lose the tripp pants, dude. Unless of course, your portraying a time traveler from the future. In that case, why aren't you using a light saber? That's a wicked sword though. Keep up the good work.

My pants are just something people are gonna have to get over. And the garb was designed from the cloak bought at walmart, in the fabrics section.

You can not even imagine how hard it hits though.
Something I do not like very much, it was built from
the blade of an edhellen flamberg, which means it
could actually hurt someone if I were to give a good
solid red hit to someone's face, I may just have to
challenge one of the gangbanger idiots up my street for
the hell of it, lol.

I'm loving the pvc bow Esalvapar, very nice and clean looking. Is it just the angle of the picture or did you design it like a kyudo bow, cause that'd be flippin sweet.

Nice weapon.

if you want it to hit with the tip instead of the curved portion of the blade, next time, reverse the way you bent the handle. Instead of having bend the way it is now, just bend it the opposite direction so then theres so much of a curve, you could hold your arm out straight, and it could wrap, well over the top of a shield.

Ok I've been doing Belegarth for about a month, and these are the weapons I have made. Down low there is a double-bladed sword that I made called the "Blender" That thing is awesome! It passes even though it's not cyndrilical because it has sufficient padding on all sides. The far left sword is my first sword, perfectly balanced, it's on its side a bit just so you you know lol, it's not that skinny. The matching black sword and shield are my two best and most favorite items. The small shield on the right works, but the straps keep falling apart. Up above you see my Glaive, it works good enough to use at practice, but it hits to hard to use anywhere else, so I have to padd it up more.

Anyway that's my weapon status for my first month in belegarth. Waddaya think?

if things are not paded enough then there not padded enough period. it should make no diference whetere it is a local practice or not.

Actually, cylindrical design is not the standard in Belegarth; blade-shape is. Though cylindrical is still considered legal and will pass, the realistic shape contributes to, well, realism of form.

I would say fix up the glaive padding to pass nationally, and work on better shield handles, and you're all set! Nice work.

I've got a set of arrows I just made; I'll post them up here when I get a photobucket account or something like that.

i like to fight with things befor i try to build my own. its nice to get a feel for what you makeing befor you get started. i only actualy use like four of my wepon regularly. my club my florentin swords and my doubecore, usaly as a down wepon. alot of the stuff i have i bring to practces as loner wepons. or is someones wepons they brought to a minievent left there and now im holding on to them for the person. and the colection has grown since that picture. the only wepon in there made by bahkdar is the flail.

What I'm saying is I dont care so much at practice because it's good enough for ME. It needs more padding so that it's good enough for everyone. ;)

And it's only that one small shield that has bad handles. See I used it to make a double bladed sword with a shield in the middle, but it fell off and later I found out that was illegal anyway, so I made the double ended sword into a glaive, and added straps to the shield. The thing is the straps are just like some red belt-type things that I screwed into the shield. The straps always manage to wriggle off of the * head.
