I assume that you are referring to my 10 ft sword. It was heavy and a little awkward to swing, but when you get a good solid hit it has a good chance of knocking the target on his back. The stabby tip was useful, making the sword like a very heavy, unusually long spear.

I would like to mention that (if you really were asking about my sword) your question would probably have been better suited to the "10 ft Red" thread.

Just finished this spiked mace up tonight. Big props to Bhakdar, he was the first person I've seen make a mace with random jagged spikes in it - I stole the idea from him.

The weight on this is 20.1 ounces, balance point is 12.5" from the pommel. It is blue/green.

This is basically my new sword that I bought off of my friend and re-built..... It's a huge difference than using my flail, but I'm going to try with it..... It's really hard to change from a flail to a sword, eh?.... I can do it though..... I also have a shield, but it's in my friend's car, lol..... It's also more of a challenge for me to fight with the sword..... I love it, lol..... Unless I get mad..... Then I'll bring out the flail for a bit..... Hopefully soon, I'll be able to pwn with the sword as much as I did with my flail.....

That's because my crossguards are double-core (fiberglass) wrapped and taped strongly on either side of the main core, subsequently padded like pommels.

:-D

They are very sturdy (and still plenty safe).

Ikeno, I really like the design of that first sword you posted (with the red cover).

It would look a LOT better though if you covered the duct tape with black grip tape... or, if you had to, with electrical tape or AT LEAST black duct tape.

:-D

I like your pics.

I'll have to post my first sword, The Disarmer, on here if I can ever get my digital camera replaced. It is a basic blue/green sword, but it has a tendancy to disarm an opponent's weapon (assuming it is a blue or blue/green weapon) if they block a hit from my sword at the wrong angle. The first time I had this happen, my opponent's sword actually flew about 15-20 feet away from the wielder.

I haven't weighed this weapon, but I am certain that there is no way in hell it'll fail weapons check for being too light.

LOL the disarmer. My super red has done that a few times, but people have also disarmed me alot to, like this one guy who, instead of the routine block, actually swung his own red at mine, causing it to fall from my hands. And then you get these people who jump over a low swing, sometimes they make it, sometimes they dont...lol

yeah, I didn't have any black tape at the time and I didn't really want to wait to finish it and it would be a pain to have to retape the whole thing. Also, just so everyone knows, I've already found out that the dagger in the links is illegal, so ignore those, However, I will be finding a way to make it pass in the future, just in case you were wondering.

In the link, they said it'd be more of a punching weapon, and plus technically it's a "double-ended dagger." I think, but I'll leave the explaining to him.

It fails for these reasons:

1. The armguard portion is technically considered part of the weapon. As such, it is laying part of the weapon against a body part so if it is struck it is technically considered aniviling. So the armgaurd would have to be cut off at the wrist.

2. The stabbies are bit smallish so there is a chance that it could hurt to much.

3. It's a double-ended dagger which is an illegal weapon. In order for it to be legal it would have to have at least 18 in of rounded padding on each end of the weapon to make it a legal "quarterstaff type weapon". So basically, in order for it to be legal, it'd have to be about 40+ in long and have stabbies on both ends (already covered) and the hand guard could only cover up to the wrist making this a near impossible weapon to wield. However, if I widened the hand guard and made it a few layers thick (like a punch shield) I could have a punch buckler with 2 swords sticking out of it that is unbreakable but can't block arrows. And that is exactly what I'm gonna do...as soon as I get more foam.
Hope that clears things up.

Oh yeah, in case you were wondering, I put the guitar in the picture with the ax just so you would get an idea of how big it is. It's just over 48", probably 50" or so and it * near weighs close to 10/15 lbs. A very heavy weapon and a force to be reakened (sp?) with. And if you even dare to call a light on a shield strike, so help me God I will flat you upside your ugly mug.

Yeah all of my weapons are sch 80 except the small curved one which was crafted by Sir Bazil Brightflame of the Southern Marches. He made it with boiled water, and handle is quite nice too. It's two pieces of pvc making it a bit wider on one side as not to flat someone. Bazil gave the sword to me as a present for my child's birth. where do you buy your sch80 pipe cause I'd like to make some long, thinner, curved weapons but I don't want em to fail on flex. I've looked at all the local hardware stores but nobody seems to have some. Maybe I missed it or something.

I use sch40 (I think) and they don't flex at all. I guess it depends on how long the weapon is gonna be.

I wish that I used sch40 O.D. instead of I.D.

Has anyone tried it and does it work?

Try a plumbing-specific store. I get my 80's at Lowes. I hear they're at Home Depot too but I've yet to see them. And yes, I checked plumbing and only found joints not actual pipes so it may be just my Home Depot.

You can get sch 80 at Lowes or Home Depot.

It's called conduit for running wires but it's the same stuff. Just look in electrical instead of plumbing. It's usually grey.

yeah, I just made a cool new sword and soon as I find our camera, I'll post some pics. Little did I know while I was crafting it and was informed later that it looks like Inuyashu's sword. ?:( I've only seen like one show, never really got into that so I don't know. I'll let you be the judge though.

also, about the sch80 pvc. I did see the grey plastic conduit in the electrical section but it seemed to be alot less strudy and more flexible than the sch40 plumbing version. I dunno, maybe it was a different conduit, I didn't look that hard at it though and didn't bother to check the info stamped on the pipes.

No you found the right stuff, grey pipe is used for underground conduit which makes it not a good weapon core ie not as durable as white sch 40

Image

It red, slightly curved, double edged, and it has a stabbing tip. It has now become my new favorite weapon.

Nice...

But those guitars man, My favorite is the sniper one. I just don't see why to have 3 or 4 fingerboards, you cant play on all of them!

During chaos I always seem to come up on top
Therefore, I must manipulate all that you do
