I Saw At EQ That Some People With Sheilds Lose Their Weapon Arm and Drop THeir Weapon Why Not Drop The Sheild And Continue To Fight With Their Weapon?

Hope Some One Can Help ME Understand This.

I keep a backup weapon in my shield. Not really in the shield. I grip the punch handle and the handle of the sword at the same time.

I can use the shield to block missle weapons and help out my team with a few well placed shield bashes. I can also drop or throw the shield and have a weapon in my hand instantly.

If you can find someone else on your side to hang with, then having the shield can sometimes be more helpful than the additional weapon. For example, a spear or red fighter can usually benefit from having a shield bearer providing protection from missile weapons as well as other shield fighters.

P.S. Whoops. I posted this right as Badger made his post.

i don't know if this answers your question more directly, but:

i've been taught that when you lose an arm, you must drop what is in that arm instantly. so, if hit in the weapon arm, you MUST drop the weapon. THEN you can drop the shield and pick the weapon up with the other arm.

too many people just switch weapons between hands, then put the dead arm behind their back.

and please, stop capitalizing every word.

Romuinus--you may like it, but PLEASE stop. The rest of us don't like it at all. It makes your posts very hard to read.

I was taught to drop what ever is in that arm as soon as it is hit, even if that means that I am in mid swing and my sword goes flying into the air. The reason that I would conitue to fight with just the sheild is that it increases my surviability while I am also able to find something to weild in that hand.

I think one of the best reasons to just hang on to the sheild is bridge battles you can hold off 10 people with just a shield on a brdge by yourself
