Hey All,

Belegarth will now be represented as the heavy boffer group at Wyrdcon in Costa Mesa, CA on Friday night. If you have a Bel realm in Southern California, I encourage you to join us for this event, so that you can come and promote both your local realm and the national sport. Additionally, there is a "Fighter's Ring," there, so...I guess we get to challenge the LARPers?

The convention is 3 days long, and your pass is good all the days. There are many combat and non-combat LARP activities. It is split about 50/50. Belegarth will be representing the heavy end of boffer combat and Amtgard will be representing on Saturday as a medium combat group. This convention has the possibility of becoming a major event for the promotion of boffer Sports and LARPs, and is already expecting international attendees. If you are not a Bel group, and not already represented at the convention (or even if you are), you are welcome to share our space for promoting your group, though we will be playing by Bel rules for our demo times.

Please PM me for details, and if you can attend, please RSVP in the next 48 hours. You can email me at sword"at"uci"dot"edu. We have some demonstrator badges and this could make a difference in the price you pay. Pre-registration is available online ($50 for three days)

One day to go for this convention. Anastasia i will be seeing you and your allies as fast as i can get out there once they set me free from work! I am rather excited about the mini red i completed last night to use this weekend as well!

If you would like to preregister for Wyrd Con you will get a beautiful badge. On site registrants usually get paper badges.

Is there a different kind of registration for those who are coordinating one of the demonstrations?

Same weekend as Arm. Sad.

Yeah they might lose a few potential attendees cause of that. Im not ready for a multi day event (only one set of garb) so I intend on going to two wyrd instead. Hopefully by next year ill have a couple more sets and can go to the big multi day stuff. It was alot of fun last year and i am looking forward to it this year.

Also, this event is 2-30 miles away from us compared to 1000. But maybe someday

Only 1k miles? A skip away really. I wish my last day or work was not the first day of the event. This year i will not have an anchor slowing me down so ill head out after work with all my stuff and try to get there and checked into the hotel by 6. Do you know when your Bele event will begin and what day? I really want to make it before midnight this time....

As a follow up below are the dates and times for the Belegarth and Amtgard games at the convention.

Friday 6/10: Belegarth 6pm-2am
Saturday 6/11: Amtgard 1pm - 6pm and then it will pick up again from 7pm-9pm

Ill be there! My ticket is bought and ill be heading out from palm springs as soon as i get released from work with a short pit stop at home. Im buying new tires today to help get me there and my weapons are repaired. Im very much looking forward to this even though it appears no one else from my realm is going. I guess ill be a lone wolf this event. (wont be the first time). Tonight ill be testing out my new repairs on my mini red and a short sword. Im looking forward to it!
